Absolutely horrible. I never rate anything but I felt the need to prevent these people from getting any more business. They're never in the office and even if their sign says they're "out and will return shortly" it will be hours until they return or may not even return until the next day. This prevents students from getting their packages or asking basic questions. Their inability to perform basic arithmetic means you will get cheated on rent and security deposits. The facilities are a horror show. They promise to fix things but never do. Our fridge was leaking for weeks and they didn't seem to care. Further, our electricity would randomly shut off. This didn't seem to bother the staff. One washer/dryer per building is awful. Bringing your newborn child to a place of "work" is irresponsible especially given the nightmare that is the administrative building and obviously preventing them from getting anything done. The reviews speak for themselves for mckee place apartments and management is just arguing and not fixing the root of the problem.

****DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!**** Unless you want to pay $600/month to live in a very poorly maintained apartment that is literally falling apart (you can find many other places in South O or anywhere in Oakland for that matter for less than $600/month that are in MUCH better condition. The place I'm moving into for next year is bigger, nicer, and WAY more well-kept and my rent is less than $600/month), do not live here! Also, if you prefer to not live with bugs (especially GIANT thousand long-leggers), want appliances that actually work, and maintenance that actually takes care of the repair requests, do not live here. The buildings themselves (like the hallways to get to your apartment and what not) are literally falling apart and you can see mold growing on the walls in the corners. The cobwebs and cat litter smell really add to the over-all look and feel, too. On top of the 2/10 living conditions, good luck dealing with the property manager that is rude, arrogant, disrespectful. The management of this company has absolutely NO idea what they are doing and that's an understatement. I've heard from multiple people about the management messing up their rent and them trying to make the resident pay WAY more than what they owe. I've even talked to some people who have said they're thinking about suing because of the mess the management has caused them with their bank accounts and rent payments. Do NOT live here!!!

I lived here last year with a few other girls. The location was nice and close to Pitt's campus. The apartment wasn't awful, but I think it had bad insulation because we would turn the heat on and I would never feel warm. It took about 2 months for maintenance to come out and fix our toilet. The main office was helpful in helping me get my security deposit back. It took about 3 months from when I was first supposed to get it to when I finally got it. Overall, I'm sure it could have been a lot worse, I do think I was in one of the nicer apartments though, so I may have been lucky.

Would never rent from McKee Place Apts again. During the year I lived here, multiple maintenance requests never got completed. I moved out over 2 months ago and still have yet to receive my security deposit back and am being told it's still being "processed". Rent is outrageous for what they offer. Office staff, when rarely available, is always rude and unknowledgeable.
