The food at Shaukin is the best Indian food in town, but they are extremely bad at keeping time. I learnt a lesson in the beginning when the management changed when I ended up waiting a hour for my food. So now I call and place an order. BUT, the problem is they say 15-20 mins and I leave accordingly but I still end up waiting an average of 30 mins after I reach the place!!!! This is completely unacceptable waiting that long samosas! You need to improve your wait time DRASTICALLY or at least be honest with the wait time. This is unacceptable.

Theres a serious lack of hygiene. The restaurant is dirty and staff too. Im sure this restaurant will fail, if it have health inspection. The food tasted okay, however I will stay away from the uncommon meals as I think it might be contaminated. Plus the prices are higher then normal, as of April 2018 all the meals start st $10.99.

Let me begin by saying that I absolutely love the food here. It is one of the most authentic Indian food places in town. But whenever my friends and I try to come here for lunch, they are not open! I called yesterday evening to confirm that they were going to be open at 1PM this afternoon. But when we got there at 1:10PM today, the doors we locked and no staff inside. In fact, from what we could see through the front door, even the kitchen light did not seem turned on! Please share you actual hours with the customers...

It's a small and cozy place, the service takes some time but the food tastes great so its worth the wait.

Good Indian food, quality has improved by so many folds! Only one small let down is service is extremely slow and has to improve if they want more customers! This is probably the one place students go to for South Indian food so I would say, it is not extremely student-pocket friendly!

I recently went to have lunch at Shaukin on a snowy day, knowing that it opens at 1 pm. We waited in the cold for 15 minutes and the restaurant did not open even at 1.20 pm. Unprofessional owner who does not even care to open the restaurant on time. There were other students as well who waited for like half an hour for the restaurant to open. The food is no doubt good there, but the service is pathetic. They also take 30-45 minutes to bring the order.

The joint has very good Indian and Indo-Chinese food. But you need to be very clear while specifying the spice level, or you could end up with extremely hot food. Most of the food comes in extremely generous portions; 2 orders are sufficient for 3 people looking for a good meal. But a few things bring the ratings down - the service is woefully slow and there seems to be just the one server at the front of the restaurant. There's also that annoying door that just wont close all the way! It was snowing the evening we decided to visit and every time someone walked in, a blast of cold air hit us. The store owners need to fix the door and the service issue in order to improve the meal experience for all of us!!

Average prices, slightly more expensive than other places around. The service is really slow though and it takes a long time to cook the food. Chicken biryani is good though, and they have a lot of spice which is good if you like that.

Same restaurant under a new management. The food has gotten better, but it is now way more expensive that what it was earlier. I may return here if I happen to win a lottery or after I become a millionaire.

Average prices, great Chicken Tikka Masala. Probably the best Indian food in the area at this price point. Service can be slow, I have called ahead and been quoted 20 min., Showed up 25 min. later, only to wait another 10 min. for food.

Update to my old post. This place used to rock, but I've noticed some significant changes which reduce my rating: 1. Food takes forever, used to spend 30min here, no upwards of 2 hours. 2. Some items are missing or have changed flavor. For example, palak paneer has a different spice profile than before. 3. New staff seems unfriendly and a little out of touch with the community. 4. Pricing is higher than it used to be. Overall, the food is still good, but I highly recommend carry-out. Call ahead and expect 40 min cook time.

Shaukin is addictive. It is a rare find for anyone that enjoys Indian food. Great quality, good price. Recommend ordering ahead of time to save the wait.

This place was alright. I was slightly disappointed with the rice cakes in spicy sauce. My wife and i felt that the sauce was too watery. The spicy pork wad really good. We also got the spicy noodle soup with squid and mussels which was good as well. The food was spicy, but not too overwhelming.

I always have the spicy Korean beef. Been there more than 30 times over 2 years. Great tasting food at a reasonable price!

Great place to meet friends after work for a drink. The owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable for all things beer (and ciders too!). We like the rotating on-tap options and options for 4oz glasses (hey, it's hard to commit to a whole pint of new beer, lol). They only serve $50 ramen there, but you can BYOF. Cheers!

Tasty, authentic Korean and Japanese food ordered easily off a picture menu on the wall. Dishes are inexpensive and quantities are generous.

Hard to find good asian food in lafayette, this is the exception! Bulgogi Is delicious and it comes with free soup and it is my favorite meal.

First off, the food is good. Read the other reviews for more detail. That said, I had a random chance to hear the owner give a talk to students. She is truly an inspiration. If for nothing else, support a local business, an entrepreneur, and someone who is truly an inspiration and worth supporting.

It is good food but you need to make sure if you want warm or cold food. They don't explain this to you and it is not detailed in the menu. So if you want warm food ask before ordering. The best option here is the noodles soup, the other options are not very good.

One of the few Vietnamese places with good veggie options. Loved the yellow tofu curry with rice.

Decent vietnamese food, considering there isn't another vietnamese place in town. Once you come in you do realize that it's fairly authentic compared to rest of the restaurants. Pho is good and so are the egg rolls.

A great place to go with a big group! They have ample seating and have a huge beer menu that will appeal to everyone. The only downside of a constantly rotating menu is that I have found my favorite beer here and haven't had it again since they ran out. While they don't serve food, you are free to bring your own or have some delivered.

Great place - wish they had snacks of some kind like popcorn or pretzels, but the beer selection is awesome and they have something for everyone. Also they have beer shakes - What a great concept. Had just one and would love to have more but sipping them isn't an option... Worth the trip

I visit The Pint weekly on Thursdays, and sometimes more on a week they have beers I'm interested in trying. It has the most serene and chill-out atmosphere of any bar on either side of the bridge. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, which is a major reason I continue to visit time and time again. The board lists all that they have available at the time of arrival and lists the name, ABV, IBU and cost for either a pint or 4 oz size of beverage. Most importantly for me, they usually have 4-6 IPAs on tap, which allows me to determine if I'll like the brew and want to purchase more of it, or ultimately decide that while enjoyable, it's not my particular favorite.

Great place to grab a pint and hang out with friends. I enjoy that you can actually have a conversation with the noise level. The wifi password is currently "beerislife" .

Most the negative reviews seem to be from people who aren't used to the random way an international restaurant tends to be run. Yes they can be slow - relax and enjoy not rushing for once. There's a chance any local restaurant will be slow. Prices seem high for noodles and rice. But considering it is easy to drop $10 for a burger and $25 for a large pizza within half a mile it is sure easy to recommend Green Leaf. Food is very fresh and so tasty. Great flavors and variety of dishes, good selection of bubble teas, and quality ingredients that feel minimally processed and make for a filling and wholesome feeling.

Price is reasonable. Nice soup (free) for appetizer. Nice variety of Korean food. Taste is not exceptional but not bad as well. After you finish, you have to put your dishes away yourself.

Awesome selection of beer that regularly rotates. One of my favorite (if not most favorite) places to go and drink great beer. Extremely friendly staff! Love the atmosphere and what it represents here. If I had to to pick one local business to keep, The Pint would be my first and second place.

For the past 2 years (Junior right now), I have been going there once a week for the Spicy Pork! It's the most amazing thing ever! I only wish that I did not have to go down all the way cuz its quite a walk, but always worth it! And you can always get extra pork for an extra dollar :)

I did a 12 month lease in a 1 bedroom apartment during the 14-15 school year on River road. First, the apartment that they gave me was dirty initially. I usually walk barefoot in my apartment and I distinctly remember the soles of my feet were pitch black (no exaggeration) from all of the accumulated dirt. Along with the first point, the second was that they took so much of my security deposit at the end for "cleaning fees". I honestly believe they didn't even bother cleaning my apartment because I did them a favor by cleaning and maintaining it while I was there. Third, I was on the ground floor and there were so many bugs in my apartment. I did my best the repel them but they even managed to get through. About the service, they didn't seem to really care about whether I was a tenant or not. I usually had to drop off my rent at their office (convenient because it was close to my classes) and they always had a long line. Overall, I would not recommend this landlord unless if you're desperate to find a place to live.

Maybe Evergreen Campus Rentals has learned something in the past 5 years, but I would not say "The management is HORRIBLE!". Dustin runs a tight ship. If anyone ever has an issue, they simply need to contact him. Also, any and all fees from a security deposit are written into nearly every lease, read them carefully. The most you'll pay for here, is carpet cleaning. My carpet was fresh and clean, my walls were well maintained, and appliances were fully functioning. In the interest of maintaining the living space for myself and future lessees, I see no issue in paying a portion of my security deposit. Great location too.

I rented from Weida Apartments for 3 years while I was in college at Purdue. It was the first company I scheduled visits with and being a first time renter I was a little anxious to take the leap from the dorms to off campus living. I could not have been more pleased with the experience I had renting from them. Maintenance requests were easy to make and the problems were fixed within the same day, very rarely did it take more than a day for someone to come out. Emails were answered promptly and the people there are always friendly. It can be intimidating to rent your first apartment but they really do what they can to make it a stress free experience. I'm so glad that I continued to rent from them for so long. Highly recommend!

Best Korean and Japanese food around town, and maybe even the state. Definitely the best I've had in a really long time. Food was delectable and there was free soup and water with purchase. The servers were very friendly, and the food came quickly. I would rate this restaurant ten out of five stars. And would recommend for any occasion.
