Far West Side Neighborhood Summary

The Far West side is a rapidly growing area that begins just outside of the 410 Loop and extends past 1604, outside of the current city limits of San Antonio. It’s a favorite of military families, attracted by the proximity to Lackland Air Force Base, but people of all backgrounds are flocking to the area’s subdivisions and apartment complexes, which are reasonably priced for middle-class families. Development has exploded in the past 10 years, and the area is currently serviced by dozens of new grocery stores, restaurants, and big-box stores. San Antonio rent prices increased over the last month. From February to March, the city experienced a 1.06% increase for the price of a one-bedroom apartment. The rent price for a San Antonio one-bedroom apartments currently stands at $1,048.0.

When we take a look at the two-bedroom comparison from February to March, San Antonio experienced a 0.46% increase for the price of a two-bedroom apartment. The rent price for a San Antonio two-bedroom apartments currently stands at $1,311.0.

Rent growth in San Antonio over the past year has been on the rise. When compared to major cities nearby, along with some of the most expensive cities in the country, San Antonio average rent prices appear to be relatively affordable for local residents.
