When I initially moved in I was very happy with my apartment, but over the two year period I've lived here, I've come to see some very glaring issues. Things I ignored when I first moved in, such as the lack of storage space and dirty looking cabinets, are a big issue now. There is a very small "pantry" and a place in the hallway that I cannot determine the purpose of, as it's too small to store even towels in. There is a cabinet in the bathroom, but ever since water leaked from the ceiling so much that the wood was permanently warped, I can't store much of anything in there. All of the storage spaces are too small to actually put anything in. I have nowhere to store my vacuum cleaner, as an example.
The parking is definitely an issue, as it will always be full unless you pay for covered parking. If you're ever out late, expect to have to park nowhere near your unit.
The included washer dryer unit is absolutely god awful. All of my clothes always have a smell when they come out if the dryer, and the dryer itself is useless. I have to run my clothes through at least 5-6 cycles before they're dry.
My largest issue recently however, is insects. I have never in my life been anywhere that has such an insect problem. Most apartment complexes will have hired a service to come spray at some regular interval to help deal with insects. Not here. I find centipedes in my shower, ants in my bedroom, and ESPECIALLY roaches in my kitchen. I clean very thoroughly since this issue began, and it hasn't stopped. It is nearly an infestation. I rarely use my kitchen anymore because the moment I set down a plate to prepare something, if I look away, roaches will climb up onto the plate and onto my food. I have asked several times, and submitted work orders about this, and the only response I've received is a cancellation of my work order. It is an absolutely disgusting place and I am leaving as soon as I can.
Also, my favorite little thing I was told, should have been a warning sign: they told me that I couldn't shower with the bathroom door shut because the bathrooms aren't properly ventilated, so mildew would grow. Are they out of their minds? Words to live by if you ever go looking for apartments: don't ignore the "little" issues.
