Obviously the biggest complaint about Lux has to do with their management, and my advice to people is to make sure you don't underestimate these complaints. I've lived there for 3 unfortunate years now and had many complaints come to mind during that time, but recently Lux reached the final straw and led me to leave a review. The shuttle service, described by many as one of the only positive aspects of Lux, was just cancelled spontaneously beginning last week. Less than half way through the summer, on a college campus that has ZERO parking options for students on weekdays (even during the summer), and for complete BS reasons (or lack thereof), Lux decided to announce the very sudden, very impactful, and very inconsiderate decision to cancel the shuttle. Why? Blind to the need for, and the true high-volume usage of, the shuttle, and as always hiding behind some obscure, meaningless phrase, Lux claims "low utilization and tax-driven concerns" lead to this decision. Because despite all the mornings this summer that have begun with crowds of summer-schoolers anxiously awaiting the iconic Lux Shuttle to get them to class on time, a few hours in the middle of the day with lower passenger volume has led Lux to believe that the shuttle isn't needed at all, and should be abruptly discontinued without any thought of all the students who rely on it. Lux has no concern for its residents and their obligation to now walk all the way to campus despite their promise of a shuttle service when signing their lease - if Lux cared about its residents it wouldn't be too difficult to implement a modified shuttle schedule rather than resorting to complete obliteration. Personally, I have to walk 1.1 miles (mainly uphill) one way with a heavy book bag every single day now and it makes it worse when I think of how I'm STILL PAYING for the shuttle service. Lux offered NO reduction in rent, even though for almost two months now they will encounter additional money in the budget resulting from not having to pay for the drivers, the gas, and the (frequent) shuttle maintenance 6 days a week. Why am I still paying for an amenity that I was promised that is now no longer in place??
