Tobin Hill Neighborhood Summary

Tobin Hill is an urban, yet historical district just north of downtown San Antonio, bound by North St. Mary Street to the east, and McCullough to the west. This neighborhood is one of the hippest in San Antonio, home to a number of the city’s coolest restaurants, bars, and shops. Try Cured or Barbaro for dinner and Hi-Tones for drinks, or head to the former Pearl Brewery, which has been remade into an upscale shopping center, and features a top-notch farmer’s market, culinary institute, hotel, and various retail outlets, including an outpost of San Antonio’s best roaster, Local Coffee. Most of the residential areas are in the north and south parts of the neighborhood. This dense community features a healthy combo of single-family homes and recently renovated historical apartments. With high walkability and close proximity to Hwy 281, it comes as little surprise that Tobin Hill attracts young professionals and students alike. Considering how close it is to all the amenities of Downtown, the housing in Tobin Hill is incredibly affordable, making it a popular off-campus option for students on a budget.
