Kansas City is home to a rich nightlife scene. There are strip clubs, comedy clubs, dance clubs, and everything else under the sun. The Gusto Lounge is a hipster bar with a nice dance floor. The VooDoo Lounge is an awesome music venue that has great sound and light shows. For karaoke, choose The Red Balloon, which also has darts, trivia, and other activities going on. A great jazz bar is the Blue Room, the Jerusalem Cafe is the best hookah bar, and the best pub is either McCoy’s, or The Flying Saucer. Summers here are muggy and sticky, with temperatures usually in the 80s and uncomfortable. It gets VERY buggy, and combined with the high humidity, makes the outdoors avoided. Summers can also seem rainy. Winters can get very cold. Autumns are pretty, if you can get past the amount of thunderstorms. The winter weather is somewhat unpredictable--there may be warm spells up into the 70s, or there may be a streak of days below freezing. Spring can be unpredictable too-- it may come early, or a late frost can ruin gardens in April.
