7/3/2018 - I have found Southpoint Village Apartments to be one of the very few communities, where they listen to the residents and strive to improve. More recently, I have seen the office install an Amazon Hub for postal delivery. The leasing office has acknowledged the issue of parking and are making great progress by providing reserved spaces for residents, if they chose to do so. In addition, any illegal parking is dealt with appropriately. My review ratings has not changed since Aug 15, 2016. I wouldn't move to any other community, as long as I live in Durham!
We have been living here since Aug 15, 2016. It has been a very pleasant experience thus far. Right from selection of my apartment to making sure that my family can live without any maintenance issues, Vail and Ryan took care of our needs on a priority basis. Our apartment will continue to be our home, until we decide to buy one sometime in future.
Thank you Vail and Ryan, please keep up the good work and excellent service you are providing to the residents at the Southpoint Village Apartments.

We absolutely love our third-floor apartment! Other than one, specific barking dog who frequents the Bark Park near us, we couldn't be happier with our home.

Southpoint Village Apartments are excellent apartments! Clean, comfortable, safe and great atmosphere! They are very responsive to your needs and work very hard to make sure you are happy.

My wife, me, and our little dog lived in Southpoint Village for 2 1/2 years before purchasing a home. Jacob and Drew (local management) do a fantastic job assisting the residents in any way they can, as well as personally chipping in to clean up, paint, etc. They are responsive and professional at all times. The complex is huge and well kept. This in part due to the great job Dave and Rodney do in keeping up on things. A few times when we had issues come up, one of them were always available and eager to quickly resolve the issue. Another BIG plus was that my wife always felt safe walking our pampered pooch both on the apartment complex property and outside around the well-lit shopping area. Last, but not least, the area is phenomenal. Everything is close by--restaurants, movie theater, great shopping, gas stations, grocery stores, coffee shops, and more. We definitely recommend Southpoint Village to everyone looking for a great apartment in a great part of Durham!

This was by far the best apartment complex we ever lived in. Close enough to the Mall and groceries.
The neighborhood is safe and neat. The management is super friendly and does a great job of maintaining the property. Jake and Drew are both quick to respond to any questions and problems we had. They also tried hard to build a sense of community among the tenants. The gym was probably the most spectacular aspect of this community.

Lived there for 15 months. Great location, wonderful amenities. Minor headaches that could have been addressed better: If things didn't get to the Manager, you sometimes wouldn't hear back in a timely manner. The pedestrian gate would get broken and be inoperable for extended periods of time. Propane tanks at the grill often were empty. But the apartment themselves are very nice, and the staff very friendly and ready to help. Not to mention that the pool is awesome, and the grounds meticulously kept beautiful year-round.
Would recommend at the top of any list of Luxury Apartments in the area, but be prepared to pay a premium.

This place pulled one over on my company! We rented from them. They told me the carpets were new before I moved in. They were not! I noted all the stains and ripples on the checklist. When I moved out I turned in the keys and that was that. A couple months later they sent a final bill to my employer for $850 because the carpet had to be replaced. I was never notified, they took pictures and ripped the carpet out. How knows if it was even the carpet in the apartment I was living in. Not to mention it was already stained prior to me moving in. They dealt directly with my employer and not me... so I think they were trying to get some clean carpet at someone else's expense! Not to mention the rent was high on this place and it wasn't any nicer than any other place.

The location that Google Maps shows here is wrong, by over 2 miles! The actual location of South Point Village is right across from South Point Mall and next to Renaissance Center. Find it by mapping the next-door intersection, at 7001 Fayetteville Rd.
I have no knowledge or opinion about the merits of the neighborhood itself. I'm writing this review solely to alert people about the huge error in the location.
The village clubhouse serves as the polling place for precinct 35-2 in Durham. Voters, please be aware of the correct location so you won't show up to vote in the wrong place!
