Brookside Neighborhood Summary

Anchored by Brookside Park, this quiet, upscale neighborhood is on the smaller side, but it’s part of one of the largest planned communities in the country: the Country Club District. Below 55th Street, Brookside is about 10 miles from Kansas City’s Downtown Loop on the city’s southern end, just southwest of the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus. With a reputation for being an upscale neighborhood, apartment rentals can be pricey and fill up fast. But since many of the apartments are nestled within historic homes, they’re full of character and surrounded by greenspace. The north end of Brookside is almost entirely walkable, especially as you travel south, past 61st Street, where neighborhood is dense with restaurants, coffeehouses and eclectic shops.
