The staff and management at Block 43 are committed to ensuring a safe, clean environment for all residents that support their academic goals and provide a variety of extracurricular, fun activities too. The Block 43 administrative team exposes their residents to numerous activities while also promoting the importance of an education. I am simply amazed by their exceptional ability to maintain this balance! The grounds of the apartment are well-maintained and reflect the high standards of Berkeley Communities who are committed to providing quality living arrangements for the public. As a parent and educator, I was impressed by the spacious, clean apartments for my young adults who reside there and attend college in Greensboro. Also, I was well pleased to learn about the educational incentives that Block 43 offers to support the academic success of their student residents! Great job, Block 43! Thank you.

Personally, I love the apartment for its space and the niceness of the neighborhood. However, it is certain things in management that I cannot agree with. For example, I have a roommate that has violated many rules within our lease (I.e. smoking weed & keeping the living area a mess) and I have complained now for about 4 months. Management has not done anything to move her or make the situation any better. Even with the police being called on multiple occasions. A staff member event threatened that me & my 2 other roommates will be separated and moved before she will. This is unfair and Im tired of dealing with the management. I wish I would not have renewed my lease. Do not live here unless you move in with people you can trust. Its unacc how they treat their residents.

I have had a great experience while living as a resident at Block 43 apartments. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The apartments feel more like home than apartments. Maintenance comes the same day or the day after to fix what is needed. The Block 43 staff host events in the leasing office, basketball court, and the pool. Its just a great place to live.

From the friendly staff, luxurious style townhouses and office w/gym , to the attentive maintenance, you can't lose on the block. Block 43 is honestly my ideal living for student housing, and with Burkely Communities running the place (which I have been with for several years) I am extremely confident that for the remainder of my lease here, I will continue to have a comfortable lifestyle which makes me feel at home. I've been wanting to live in these communities since they were called "Sterling Cottages" however I did not hear any good reviews with that management. However, what the Block has now, you would never imagine that there was ever an issue with management. I have even refereed some residents who currently live in the community now and they are grateful for the inspiration I gave them to make the move.

All these people on here giving bad reviews are insane. This place is the bomb to live and its really changed since sterling days. The management is great and so sweet all the time. The houses are too cute and the rates are affordable. So stop playin and live here.

I love living here, I have no real complaints. The apartment is extremely nice; I got the roommate I chose without any issues whatsoever because I arrived early. The people in the office are GREAT, extremely friendly and go out of their way to do events and things for the residents so I see where my rent is actually going. Angie and Shari are fantastic, I love the two of them; they go out of their way to help me and my roommate with any issues we have. All in all, it's a great community and worth the money.

Really a 0 star but that was not an option. Terrible Management at this community. They dont listen to your roommate preferences and are a money first community. It looks nice and dandy from the outside but once you sign your lease, you are basically just another dollar to them. The other one star reviews are very very accurate and describe the atmosphere here. The furniture is cheap and often needs maintenance calls to repair them....the washer in our unit broke multiple times alone in my two years of living here....they claim that they are a safe community but when you have a roommate issue, it is largely ignored so long as you pay rent. They also enter your apartment at will. Do not live here...find somewhere else!

Please listen to all the 1 star reviews & don't move here. Yes it looks very nice on the outside & it's very spacious, but everything about this apartment is CHEAP. However, my main complaint is with management. If you have a problem, you're basically on you're own, all they care about is money, nothing more, nothing less. I had an ILLEGAL roommate subleasing, with an abusive, and threatening boyfriend, who also had a child. I've even called the police on him before. When I told management (Angie and Shari) they called me in for several meetings and did absolutely NOTHING at all. Despite me telling them I felt uncomfortable & unsafe, they let them live there, even though I had been living there all year. Please do not waste your money here. Plus all the furniture is cheap, the water pressure is horrible & it barely gets hot. Plus Matthew, the best person there, doesn't even work there anymore. This place is not worth it at all.

I have been living at Block 43 before Block 43 was Block 43. I moved in here back in 2015. Since December 2016 when the company take over happened there has been a change in atmosphere and customer care. I feel secure in knowing that I am a person here and not just a head in a bed. They know that happy residents stay and that is the goal.

Received a random $130 charge about a month ago and when I emailed Angie I waited weeks for a response and never got one explaining what the actual charge was for. My mom had to start mailing in my rent with a check because when the new management took over we couldn't figure out how to pay online anymore, then even though she sent it in TWO WEEKS EARLY I still got multiple eviction notices and a late fee after THEY made it harder for me to pay rent. Which took several angry phone calls to get waved. The apartments are extremely poorly insulated, there has not been one month in the past two years I haven't had to pay overages for using my heat and air. (If you move in now there supposedly are no more overages, however the rent went up for all apartments.. I'm assuming for this reason) There are actual holes in the front and back door, so the heat and air gets out really easily. The washer and dryer are horrible and outdated, way too loud and I have to dry my clothes like 4 times to get them actually dry. Living here has been a total nightmare and I get an email this morning from Block 43 bribing me with a free "gift" in the office to leave a 5 star review. That's a joke. Also visitor parking is very very limited. After about 6PM it gets very hard to find a visitor spot which makes things difficult if you have evening classes like I do. As soon as my lease runs up in July I'm moving into a house for rent in Greensboro.

My experience here at block 43 was amazing honestly and I say was because I just recently moved out, but my time here with them they have been patient with me and my move out process and everything. Ms. Angie, Shari and Matthew have been real patient with my move out. They were telling me what papers I needed to get signed and what all I needed for the move out process so I commend them for that. While I was staying here my room was pretty spacious and I had my own bathroom in my room with a walk in closet and the closet is a pretty big that is something that I was happy about. There floor plans are great and for the price that they offer for them is pretty good I must say and for it to be student housing this is the best place to live around here. The area is great to live in as well like I haven't had any worries as far as crime go or anything of that nature. So yea if you're looking for a place to stay then Block 43 is definitely the place to go.

The change in ownership and management late in 2016 looks be a positive development, based on our recent experience. They are professional and have worked hard to help us when we ran into issues. They really care about their community being a good environment for students.

When I moved here, it wasn't bad at all. Then everything went downhill as time went by, oh and WHAT did I release for?? Stupid me! If you know whats good for you, you would not move here. They are unprofessional. I only like one person in the club house and thats Carlyn. The apartments are PAPER thin, i can hear every conversation my neighbors have below me. The fact that the apartments sit right between two sets of train tracks is HORRIBLE. They are not insulated at all so it does get VERY cold. Oh and You will be responsible for everybodys electricity within your building, not just YOUR apartment. They tell you, you each have a $25 allowance for your electricity, but for some reason we get overage charges more than we use the electricity. Most of the time the overages are from 2 months prior to the current month you receive the overage and they charge you higher prices each time you get charged. (Like I said, you're being charged for your apartment, as well as everyone else in your unit). Maintenance is a joke! HA they don't seem to care about visitor parking as much as they talk about it because a lot of people have parking passes and don't even live here! The list just goes on and on, I could probably right a book thicker that the crappy lease they have you sign. BEWARE! They don't personally want you, they want your money!!

They do not care about ther resident and the bus that goes back to forth to campus doesnt always run on time and most of the time it does not have enough seats to carry all the passengers. Maintenance is not 24 hour even though they tell you it is. My microwave caught on fire and they would not call maintenance they said it was not a serious emergency. They have bug problems, the managment horrible, Liz does not do anything, she sit at her desk and talks to her friends just like the others. No one knows what they are doing, sterling cottages has been a big headache all they do is lie about the property they steal your money and every month you get 10-50$ overages for things you do not use. I haved cry myself to sleep at night just because i have to stay in this hell hole, they make the step so difficult for you to unlease. You have to pay a lot of money and then you have to find someone else to take over your lease and pay another amount. This is the worst place every to stay please do not move here you will regret it for the rest of your life!

DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH THIS PLACE. I wish I could rate Sterling Cottages less than 1 star. I wish I had talked to a current resident before moving into this place, because management is awful and they truly don't care about their residents at all. It looks great on the outside and they'll show you a demo townhouse that's clean and looks really nice, but once you move into the actual townhouse it's a different story. They will take your money, but you won't get anything in return. Services they claim to offer such as a shuttle from Sterling to UNCG campus will barely run. I can't count the number of times I was stranded on campus or missed important classes because the shuttle wasn't running and Sterling didn't bother to let any of the residents know. In addition to not providing the services they say they will, Management will also charge you as many overages as possible, even if you haven't actually gone over on electricity. They will wait until the period to renew your lease is up and then start sending overages just to get extra money out of you. Please don't sign a lease here. Or at least talk to as many current residents as possible first, because this is some trickery.

I absolutely LOVE Sterling Cottages. I have never felt more comfortable and secure away from home. I heard about Sterling from a bunch of my sorority sisters who have been living here for going on 2 years. The best thing about Sterling would have to be the shuttle that runs EVERYDAY from 7 am to 7 pm. We have a huge pool that is perfect for cooling off during the warm seasons, tons of computers in the computer lab that come in really handy during exams and submitting assignments for school, and an awesome gym that has everything you would ever need to maintain a healthy life. The people who work in the office are truly amazing people. I've never had such a smooth leasing and move in experience in my life. I will renew my lease here every year that I can!
