If you have the chance to see my review, please keep in mind that AVOID THIS PLACE. The walls are paper thick that they cannot isolate any noise. I have a noisy neighbor and every time she turns on TV, I can hear it from everywhere in my apartment. All the facilities and equipments are old and lack good maintenances and make me feel like this building is built 100 years ago and has never been renovated. All they keep nice is their leasing office. In winter, they turn up the heating to burn you but not give you warm. I have asked them to adjust heating by weather but they refused. I have to open my window in winter to keep cool. In summer, the apartment turns to be super hot and the AC is not working well. And roaches are every in summer no matter how clean your apartment is. I just received a call from the manager. Well, the attitude is good but I still think there are lots of things could be improved and those the management office cannot do. So I raise my review to 2 stars, but I still do not think this is a comfortable place at least for me.

As a resident at York Terrace, I have nothing but praises to management and maintenance. They are a professional and approachable staff that work hard to maintain the cleanliness, safety and quietness of this large property everyday. But as residents, we have to take responsibility of conducting ourselves in a dignified and respectable manner with our neighbors and management to maintain a safe and enjoyable community. However, I think its unfortunate that someone would complaint about having too much "HEAT" during the winter months when the temperature is frigid, or complaint about a loud television or radio. Recently I took the initiative to refuse a similar noise problem, I politely asked my neighbor to adjust their television or radio, etc... At that point, my neighbor complied with my request and there was no need to report the matter to management. So, let's keep in mind, like any other large apartment complex there will be noise at some point. Most importantly, I was impressed the way management and maintenance took preventative measures to control an infestation outbreak this summer. They contracted a extermination company to conduct a special treatment for the trash compactors, chute rooms and trap doors, etc... In addition, routine extermination service is provided every month free of charge. Also, whenever I go to the office the staff is always courteous and my work order requests are always completed in a timely manner just to mention a few. For this reason, I have referral several of my colleagues from work to reside here. So I would like to extend my appreciation to the entire staff for their professionalism and dedication. This place is great. Very quite, close to expressway, and great restaurants. Management is helpful and will work with you when needed. Some of the tenants do not respect the place, not the fault of management. As these tenants are weeded out, this place will improve.

The place is crap 1.laundry doesn't work and the laundry area stinks - takes me 4 hours and 6 trips to get a single load done 2.elevators don't work - had to climb up and down 21 floors or wait 40 minutes for the elevator 3.the heating is messed up - on complaining they told me - hot air rises up so they cant do anything. I asked them to fix the ac they said the ac is not made for the winters - I still did not quite get that. 4. the storage space assigned to you is given to someone else. 5. the exhaust system is pretty bad and the smoke alarm goes off when you're baking 6 the manager is really rude and incompetent. 7. The maintenance staff does do a decent job the security and the rest of the office staff are quite nice too. for all what is said to be offered as opposed to whats given - Its a total rip off, you'd rather pay elsewhere and get better facilities. over all rating - 2/10
