Beware of this place formerly known as SouthGate Apartments Your rent will fluctuates month to month. Apartments are nice but the games, lack of communication and the fluctuations arent worth it! Youll be better off owning your own house or condo. My base rent is $910.00 a month although parking is free I use that word loosely because depending on what time you come home parking can be hard to find so I opted to pay for premier parking thats $30.00 a month ok a few years ago they started this utility program through Conservice and when the program came about it was told tenants pay 50% of utilities & Midpointe would pay the other 50% LIES LIES LIES! Since then its changed twice and residents wasnt notified it went from 50/50 to 70/30 to 90/10 yes residents pay 90% of utilities and Midpointe pays 10% Heres the problem youre paying rather you use it or not! example I have an one bedroom & my neighbor is in an one bedroom they claim to have a set amount based on square footage of Studios/One bedrooms/two bedrooms so if Im barely home but lets say my neighbor is a stay home mom and using her gas more frequently & water more frequently now lets Times that by all the one bedrooms in this building & common areas of the building Im getting stuck with a high ass bill regardless. Ive asked for proof of how theyre figuring out these Guesstimation of a bill but I was told they have no bill to present to me so if Im told to pay it I have to take their word and just pay it. Also you pay for garbage pick up, pay to have conservice send you a bill. Oh must I forget to mention the numerous times this property has been sold and the new name changed to Midpointe Apartments makes you wonder. Some months Im paying mid $900s or just of recently in the low $1000s. Oh lets talk about if youre trying move in you have to pay all these ridiculous fees and based on the market your rent can be quoted one amount and change the next day just some suspicious things going on and its costing the residents

Lets see the parking spot I pay for had a car parked in my spot for over 3 hours....I called 3 times reporting it and nothing was done. The funny thing is the tow truck company is here every night hovering like vultures waiting to tow. The night I needed my spot so I could unload my groceries I had to park 4 buildings away. Oh and the odor in the hallway is awful. It smells like weed, urine and other things I just dont want to talk about. So many issues here I just dont feel like typing anymore

They never change my carpet has spots from the last person that lived on my unit its over price never know what the rent is going to be they say you pay one thing then add water sewage and trash to the rent. A/C you smells called never got fixed hallways are dirty move out ASAP its not worth the headache

I just want to express how unsatisfied I am from my stay so far at Midpointe Apartments and can't wait to move out. Thanks God I have only 6 months lease cause the quality of the apartment is not worth even for the half of the 1200$ I'm paying for a one bedroom apartment,the gym is so small and doesn't have basically anything to exercise with if someone wants to lift weights,the pool is very dirty,the lady Aisha at the office is not customer oriented at all and on top of that my car got towed even though is properly registered with the apartments and had to pay 250$ to get it back, just TERRIBLE place to live at,I'm so disappointed...

I have lived here for almost 6 years and have not really had any problems. I recently moved into one of the upgraded apartment and it looks like the pictures listed above. It is beautiful, very upscale and modern. The air-conditioning has always worked great. Maintenance requests have always been taken care of in a timely manner. Snow removal in winter is good. Grounds are well kept. My building is clean and well maintained. Parking was an issue but since the parking sticker rule enforcements are followed---I have not had a problem. Had some noise issues with neighbors, but with help from management we were able to resolve the problems. Not sure why the negative reviews against management. All in all, it's a pretty good place to live, I like it here.

I have been living at Midpointe Apartments for 4 years. It's wonderful living here. They keep their property clean and maintenance is at your beckon call. Their service is excellent. The two people that I love is Aisha and Rashaun. When you go into the office, they make you feel welcome all the time. These two people deserve a merit for what they try to do for the people that live here. On the downside, the cost for rent to stay here is over the top and parking is limited due to people who don't really live here but park here. They are making changes to parking to try accommodate all that live here, so bare with them. It's a wonderful community to state in if you can afford it. Great job Aisha and Rashaun in the front office.

I am surprised at all of the very negative reviews!! What building do you guys live in?? Lol. I have lived in Southgate/Midpointe apartments for 3 years. It's not perfect but the staff is on point. Every maintenance request that I have ever submitted has been answered in a timely response. The rent has increased slightly over the last 3 years but not by much. The only stresses for me have been the parking and the temperature in my unit. The air conditioning units do need to be updated and parking can be a challenge if you don't pay the small parking fee. Compared to the high cost of living in Chicago Midpointe gives a descent value for what we pay.

For 20 years I have been a tenant at Midpointe (formerly Southgate) Apartments, living in the same building and apartment. Since day 1, I can count the issues I've had on one hand, and they were handled expeditiously. I have seen many, many improvements at the complex, and I have had my own apartment gutted and remodeled (yes that's right) to a more upscale look, new flooring, cabinets, bathroom fixtures, and appliances including a dishwasher. My apartment was remodeled during the first renovations, back in 2005. I had to move out for 3 months, but continued to pay rent on the unit, because I wanted to keep it and not be moved to another building or unit. Since then, until now with the present owner/s and management staff, I can only say good things about them. The neighborhood is quiet, and summertime at the pool makes me feel like I'm at a resort. The new workout facility is awesome, along with the business center in the Management Office. Improvements are constantly being made, and the regular upkeep (landscaping, laundry room and halls, etc.) of the property to keep it looking beautiful and clean is a plus. As a long residing tenant, I have heard many stories, but at the same time I realize, we as residents have to "help" keep our units and property clean too. In order to keep our complex from falling apart, we have to work together with the maintenance and management staff. Parking is still an issue for some (not me anymore), but overall, the positive outweighs the negative, which is why I'm still here. We're not quite at 5 stars, but for a comfortable, safe living environment, especially for children, I would recommend living here.

I'm gonna be nice and give it a 2, if it wasn't for my wife I never would've signed the lease. If you are going to make the same mistake read the lease throughly, and ensure management adheres to it. Also, I hope you like the smell of marijuana because we'll.....there's no escaping it there. Free contact high lol. Water shuts off for a couple hours once a week. When it rains the lots flood so if you have a smaller car, trade it in lol. Your safety is your own responsibility so.......protect yourself. The maintenance guys are actually pretty good guys , there just the unfortunate victims of poor management. Get an insurance policy because any damage to your personal items is not they're responsibility (whether it has something to do with they're building falling apart or not). Also, check for mold spots from prior water damage(they like to paint over those lol, it's cheaper lol). So.. good luck God bless I'm gone lol.

Best rating for Midpoint Apartments. We have been living there for three years and have only great things to say about it. Apartments are nice, prices are affordable, the neighborhood is safe and the stuff is beyond helpful and friendly. They are continuously making improvements so they definitely deserve 5 stars.

This place is the worst. Don't waste your time. The rent goes up and up. The management is a joke. They have had mice running around my apartment and building for months. All they do is send the same stupid people who just lay down sticky traps. I have caught over ten mice in my apartment alone. Don't do it.
