There are plenty of nearby parks & trails, including Raccoon River Park which features a swimming beach, a fishing pier, picnic shelters and an off-leash dog park (did we mention we're dog and cat friendly with few restrictions??). We also have a Hy-Vee grocery store just up the block and there are tons of nearby restaurants and shopping on 50th Street, at the West Glen Town Center, and at Valley Junction. We are also just a few blocks from the 96 express bus route to downtown Des Moines.

We have been so impressed with The Fountain! We are moving from out of state. They accommodated everything we needed! We called a lot and asked quite a bit and they remained pleasant and helpful! I would recommend them to anyone!! Their units are nice and spacious! Can't say enough about them!! Thanks, Sarah and Bob!!!

Sarah ( Leasing Agent ) made the move - in experience wonderful. She was very kind and helpful. The Fountains is a great community. My apartment is in fair shape and my lake view is amazing. I always find parking close to my building. Maintenance always takes care of the property and is very friendly. The area is pet friendly.The parking lot was also paved during snowfall, so that is a plus point. I have had no issues so far and I do not foresee any issues arising. It is great quiet area to live in with your family. If you read bad reviews on here, please notice the date is from over a year ago. I recommend giving The Fountains a try.

i have lived at the Fountains Apartments for 3.5 years. I would recommend the complex to anyone looking for a nice, quite complex in West Des Moines. The location is convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and close to I-35. The staff (office and maintenance) is very friendly and helpful. The complex is clean and well maintained - all maintenance requests are resolved very quickly. I am extremely happy with the snow removal. After the driveways are plowed, the snow in front of the garage doors is also removed so you don't have a pile of snow to drive through. Other complexes will just leave the huge pile of snow after the plows go through.

I have lived at the Fountains for over a year and a half, and the staff has consistently been polite, friendly, and professional. I've lived in several apartments before the Fountains, but this is the first place that genuinely felt like home to me. It seems like living costs goes up every year in Iowa, but I really get what I pay for here. Wood burning fireplace, central air, pet friendly, and responsive maintenance.

Don't know why anyone would complain about the management, they have been kind and polite every time I call or need anything. The maintenance staff is great too. Any time I have an issue they respond promptly and professionally. No complaints whatsoever. Great deal for the price. Probably just disgruntled ex-tenants.
