While the outside of this property is absolutely gorgeous, once you step inside, you realize that is the only thing well taken care of on this property. The property manager, Fred, is basically senile and spends 90% of his time doing yard work. The other 10% is spent adding additional coats of paint to the inside of the apartments between tenants and making up excuses as to why things are not properly working.
Every townhouse on the property floods when it rains. Every one. And instead of spending the money to water-proof the foundation, they come in and add, surprise!, another coat of paint on the discoloration and mold that grows because of it. When you ask if you'll be compensated for the tools you have to purchase in order to maintain your flooded basement, you're met with a snarky comment about how renters insurance will protect your belongings but nothing else.
Whenever something isn't working or something starts to breakdown (i.e. a rusty faucet or wiring problem with a stove light) Fred will come in with his assistant and do his "inspection" and say that because it's old, sometimes things just happen. You're often told that your problem isn't a priority on his ever-growing list of things to do because he's contantly redoing flooded apartments between tenants.
Whenever you have a complaint, say a noisy neighbor, they will write a letter and Fred will deliver it. That's the extent of this realty company's solution to the problem though. Instead of, say, fining noisy tenants, they write a letter. Boom. Problem solved.
Your rent money is basically pocketed by the owner of the realty company and in no way goes back into maintaining your residence. Do not rent here unless you like throwing away cash.
