The Croydon was my happy home for three years (2019-2022) before I left DC for other opportunities. The building is in a great location of the city, and the neighborhood is a special place. Cathie, the current building manager, took over just before the pandemic in 2020 and got the entire building through an incredibly rough time, maintaining health standards and keeping residents safe from the virus without interrupting daily services. She would regularly make herself available after-hours during these hard times to assure that all residents still had a quality experience and felt safe in their homes. Any concern or request I have ever brought to her, she always attended to it promptly and made me feel like she truly cares about the residents. The rest of The Croydon staff is just as awesome. Jose, the building's Chief Engineer, became a close friend and his team was always on top of any issue I ever had--more than one of them in the middle of the night. The building itself is a classic early 20th Century building, with wonderful old touches such as cabana doors fixed to the solid doors of every unit, and louvered doors on the kitchens and walk-in closets. Despite its age, the building has been updated with all of the expected amenities, including a great laundry room, central air and heating, modern appliances, etc. I will miss the neighborhood, my neighbors, the building, and my fourth-floor apartment very much. It was a joy living at The Croydon, and should I someday return to DC again as a resident, the first place I'll look for an apartment will be at The Croydon.

I moved to The Croydon in Jan of 2021. Back then our current manager Cathie was the assistant. I decided to write this review because I am tired of my neighbors giving her hard time for none, sense stuff. The Croydon is a well-managed, well-maintained and affordable housing in North Dupont. It is pet friendly and S street dog park is literally our front yard. Pet fee is affordable . Cathie and her staff are extremely kind to our babies. The apartment is managed very smoothly and what is upsetting to me is that none-pet owners move here and drive the office xrazy because they heard a bark in the morning or the neighbor's dog cried for 30 min. Pet owners understand and totally familiar with dog's behavior and issues. You don't have to have a dog to see how idiotic it is to use a dog barking to measure the performance of a management company. I am not saying that a dog barking in 6 am is right. All I am saying is that when you live next to a dog park in a pet friendly community, the probability of you hearing a dog bark is very high. Cathie and her team run the place very smoothly. Lobby and elevators are clean, well maintained Isaac and Jose literally take care of everybody. Before you move in the application process is fast , efficient and organized. The website of the building functions very well and user friendly. I love being here and I appreciate all of you.

My first time moving to DC, I lived here for almost 2 years and really enjoyed my stay. The staff is superb. A BIG thank you to Cathie, Jose, Maria, & Issac. Anytime I had a maintenance issue it was almost always immediately taken care of. They make living easy :)
