I just moved into one of their buildings 3 weeks ago and I got the wrong mailbox key from the resident manager named Katherine! She told me that it works for my mailbox and she was completely wrong! She also said that they probably switched locks on it and then told me that she would give me a new key. Well that didn't happen! It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't received my mailbox key at all. I contacted the resident manager many times by email and by phone and still nothing happened. Then I contact this company and let them know about the issue and still nothing happened!
All I got was unprofessional responses and runarounds!
I made phone calls and contacted the police on this matter, in which I was told that it is a violation of rights. I contacted another place and was also given phone numbers to contact other state offices that works on code violations and code inspections. Also tenant rights too, and also the Civil Rights Commission. On top of that I was told that anyone tampering with mail would be in violation and a $25,000 fine, including time in prison.
I was told that I would get the right mailbox key delivered to me by Marissa and nope, that didn't happen. I waited for 30 minutes by the mailbox to get my key and still nothing.
I just moved to this state and can now see why residents and former residents are telling people about their negative experiences. In my case, if there was retaliation, it would be impossible because it is already on record.
I am not happy with the service of this company. I just hope they do an overhaul soon and start being professional.
Update:
I just received my mailbox key from Marissa on Friday, June 22, which makes it 3 weeks and one day after in which I finally received it. She made sure that it was the right key, and also told me that there will be a new resident manager that starts on Monday. I also gave her the wrong key that I was given in the first place, and a fob that I had found in which someone had dropped.
I really do hope that there won't be anymore problems in the future...
As for the mailbox issue that I had to deal with, both the federal and state had been contacted on the matter within the 3 weeks hold on my mailbox key. That is no longer in my control, as it was already reported and agencies are checking up on the issue on withholding my mail, which was also considered theft by the USPS. It is not a joke to be withholding mail at all, and not good karma either. I have never ever in my life ever experienced this issue before.
Also I lost a day of work, which equals unnecessary loss of wages, while they had an annual inspection in which I just moved in just 3 weeks ago.
This company should reimburse me for some rent, as for not having the rental contract truly fulfilled without having the right mailbox key and withholding my mail with excuses. I made time for them, called and emailed many a times. There is no excuse for that and no retaliation on their part either, as both the federal and state agencies were questioning on why my mailbox key was being held for 3 weeks.
I just hope that this company cleans their act up and has more professionalism. Because the ratings are obviously showing not good signs.
