Find a Scottsdale Apartment

Scottsdale is a large city that is part of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. It is located in the northeast portion of the valley that the entire metropolitan area fills. Scottsdale makes up a significant portion of the valley's entire population with its more than 226,000 people. It is also a very tourist friendly city, and there is a very large seasonal population that moves there during the winter months.

At its heart, Scottsdale is a vacation town. Much of its industry is based upon tourism, and you will find an abundance of large, resort hotels, golf courses, and other attractions designed to satisfy the tourists that flock to the city each winter. The city is divided along quite clear lines, with the south portion of the city being mostly populated by the working citizens of the city, and the north being where the large homes and new developments are, along with the largest business park in the city.

When to Search

Looking for a place in Scottsdale during the winter months will prove frustrating a lot of the time. This is peak tourist season in the city, with a lot of seasonal residents filling up the available apartments. If you start looking in April or May when they're leaving however, you should have much better luck.

Staying in the Know

Offering to sign a long-term lease is something that will always go over well in Scottsdale. Cities that have a high seasonal population have to contend with a lot of issues when it comes to securing long-term commitments from renters. Offering that commitment can help encourage a lot of landlords to rent to you.

Life in Scottsdale

Transportation

Driving is by far the easiest way to get around Scottsdale. The roads are extremely well maintained, and while traffic can be busy, it is usually fairly orderly. A series of highways connects the city to other cities in the valley. You can also get around using a bus, and there are bus routes that connect Phoenix and Tempe to Scottsdale.

Where to play

Art lovers should frequent the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, or take the Art Walk through the downtown galleries on Thursday nights. An old west historical event takes you on a tour of the city during A Taste of Old Town Scottsdale. Spring training in the valley is very popular with baseball fans, with Cactus League action taking place all spring.
