Point Park University

Point Park’s campus on Wood Street is a five minute walk from the Wood Street Station, which is one of the stops for the subway system that operates in and around downtown Pittsburgh. Students can board the blue and red lines there, and ideally ride them to their apartment, or close enough that they can walk or take a bus. As for buses near PPU, there are at least a dozen within walking distance, and they can transport you just as easily as the subway can. Most PPU students feel there’s no need to own a car--riding the subway, buses, or walking can get them to where they need to be most of the time.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
