Lawrenceville Neighborhood Summary

Hello hipsters! Do you like your coffee third-wave, your cuisine locally sourced, and your denim raw? If so, Lawrenceville might be for you. Once a sleepy borough in northeast Pittsburgh, Lawrenceville now attracts a young, hip contingent to its shop-packed streets. There are always new restaurants and hip cafés — from vegan Levantine cuisine at B52 to fair-trade espresso at Constellation — popping up on and around Butler Street, as well as a vibrant arts scene that supports design companies, theaters, and galleries. Lawrenceville is the largest neighborhood in Pittsburgh and, despite its growing popularity as a cultural center, many of the properties in this area are still extremely affordable.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
