We live this apartment and the second day we moved in, we found cockroaches. Ive heard some other units have bedbugs from other tenants.
This apartment has only swamp cooler, and its even not working really good so my unit is extremely hot during the summer.
Everyone in this apartment is smoking in their deck, and even we smelled smoking in the house in my room and the bathroom.
I am currently pregnant, and we have 2 years old baby. Weve been taking to the maintenance nothing has been changed. Office lady said she has to smell the smoking smell, but when it happens shes not at the office.
It doesnt make sense we have to get hold of her when it happens, especially it happens late night or early in the morning before the offices open. When I explain that the office lady said of course, you live here, and I dont live here.
I couldnt possibly have a real conversation with her. She wouldnt do anything other than spraying the house for the cockroaches which didnt work at all.
My due is next month, and we have to pay $2k to move out before the contracts done, but anyways we will move out asap. We are extremely not happy living here. We do not recommend this apartment.
We moved in to supposed to be clean apartment but instead we came in to an apartment full of cockroaches and they still have done anything about it
I was going to look into renting here but after seeing all the bad reviews I think Im going to just look else where.

Update: How can I encourage you to, not walk, but run away from this place? DON'T RENT FROM AMC or DRIFTWOOD PARK! Be aware that Diana, the manager - a.k.a. the driftwood bully, and Heidi, the AMC affiliate, are criminal. Diana has HUGE racist issues with black tenants. Also, be warned, if you live in certain apartments, you are actually paying the water bill for the other tenants... Diana told a service guy who figured that one out "shhh, we don't tell them that". So they are getting paid extra for the water when only one person is actually paying that bill. Obviously, from all the reviews, the cockroaches are a constant issue, but what about the black mold in nearly every apartment that you don't see.... but the maintenance guy does. (Except Ozwaldo.... he likes to pretend he doesn't see it). So take note if you have unexplained headaches, rashes, asthma and all other black mold side effects. Diana and Heidi are the epitome of "toxic leadership" and Diana has been seen on may accounts bullying her maintenance guys (especially the white ones) and tenants, (especially the black ones). She has also manipulated the rental situation of those on housing, over and over, to get them kicked out because she does not get bonuses for renting to people on section 8 housing... If you do end up renting here.... God help you. RESPONSE: You may be, in general terms, an Equal Housing Opportunity community, but Diana and Heidi do not follow this ethical process nor do they offer "the same professional and courteous service to every resident and guest". Too many people have witnessed first hand Diana's bullying and Heidi's blatant disregard for complaints. So your response is moot. The Driftwood Park residents (former and current) are the only opinions and experiences that matter here... and I'm pretty sure that the legitimate owner of Driftwood has no idea how AMC is unethically running his investment.

I moved 2 months and the onsite mgr is awesome. She is extremely helpful and is willing to assist. The apartments are roomy you have a great laundry room that is large. I rented my apartment without ever seeing it in person, and I was not disappointed at all.
I have never had to wait more then a couple of hours for maintenance to respond to a non-emergent issue. For weekend emergency issues they respond within 30 min to 1 hour, and they are effective in getting the issue taken care of, with little inconvenience to you. The 2 maintenance staff are always friendly and when they see you they ask if there is anything they can do for you. They are very sincere about how they feel about the residence here.
When i have asked about an issue that needed to be fixed, it is taken care of before the end of the business day,during the week.
The location of the apartment is close to everything.
You will not be sorry if you rent here. The staff is very friendly. The reviews that are posted do not accurately depict this property or the staff.
These apartments are the worst! I highly recommend to not move in here!

Going so far as to enter my apartment when she feels like it. Diana uses English being her second language as an excuse to treat people poorly. At first I thought it was just white people. Now I see it's anyone who expects her to do her job. They charge hidden fees for parking, insurance and unmeetered water usage. So people living here are paying for any guests not on the lease!! It's not worth it. Read ALL the awful reviews. They all seem to be true. If I could move I would. Stuck with the never ending roach fest for the next 9 months! Boo

I have a buddy that lived here and it's even worse than any of these reviews are saying. He broke his lease to get away from there! These apartments need a natural disaster to take it to the ground and be rebuilt. Its cockroaches, black mold, pigeon infestation, bed bugs, thug life and many many other issues. Tenants are totally afraid of the lady who manages the apartments - Diana is her name. My buddy told me she is flat out abusive. And I agree, she is not to be trusted. She didn't disclose to my friend that cockroaches are an epidemic over there... she's just greedy and wants to make money off innocent and unsuspecting people. Oh, and they only have one dude to fix EVERYTHING that is wrong with that place. I think there are like 100 apartments! How can there only be one dude to fix this $#!#hole?!! I feel really bad for him... I wouldn't take $100 an hour to be the only guy responsible for fixing everything...

It does not matter if I have lived her or just looked at them it is still a review on your performance as managers.
I did not come and speak with you guys directly because the outside itself is terrible. I'm not sure where everyone's rent is going toward. I hope in the future you take all 28 of these reviews into consideration.

The people on the phone are never nice and they do not answer and any reasonable timeframe, you will be lucky if you ever get to speak with an actual person without having to go Into the office.

The manager is terrible and can speak English, there is so many hidden things in there contract when you sign it, they charge you for pest control yet our apartment was infested for four months because she took forever to do anything about it. There is always police there and people breaking or damaging your vehicle. One of our mirrors got broke off and some one scratched shaped all over it. In the summer you mine as well move to the desert because the building are hotter inside then out and they don't care if your ac isn't working, they also don't care if your toilets broken or any other thing in the house. Save yourself the trouble moving in, and there deposit doesn't cover anything they are trying to charge me all these damaged and bills that is false and calling me three months after I left. WORST PLACE EVER THERE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!

Let me just say that I agree with ALL the negative reviews on here. You are doing yourself a huge disservice by moving here. I would dare say the homeless shelter is more habitable then this place. The reviews are dead on about the roaches. Cockroaches are known for spreading disease, causing allergies and triggering asthma attacks. They charge lots of other fees on top of your monthly rent. Among the fees that are charged is a pest control fee. Despite the fee they aren't able to get pest control into every unit of a building and so the problem just exacerbates itself. This place has a long rap sheet with the health dept. You can do a grama request for this place and see just how many complaints they have. The health dept does very little to enforce their policies and procedures here. We were Section 8 and the housing authority abated their rent payment over the the roach issues we had. Driftwood retaliated against us over the abatement by posting bogus notices on our door and having their attorney start eviction proceedings. Good luck getting a good nights sleep with all the partying, domestic violence, and drug use that goes on. Unsupervised kids lighting cars on fire. Maintenance is slow and does shoddy work. AMC is the company that operates this property. AMC is known as the slumlord of large property management companies this side of the Mississippi, having been sued for 28mill over a carbon monoxide poisoning case out of Wyoming. Save yourself some money and your sanity and don't move to any AMC property.

My roommates and I signed a lease and found out the day we moved in that there were cockroaches. A little down the road the building got infested with bedbugs as well. When moving out the staff went into our apartment ,that was still ours until the end of the month, and threw away the rest of our possessions we hadn't moved yet and changed the lock. They did not try to call or email any of us to find out if we were all moved out yet or not or even to notify us what they were doing. They can't replace our stuff and apparently the most they can do is give is a refund from when they changed the locks to the end of the month. Worst experience ever.

I mean they were everywhere and when we complained they brought some roach spray and sprayed around which did nothing. Long story short, we moved out in a week and had to sue to get our money back. Don't rent, you will regret it.

If ya got no other place to be..suck it up buttercup and keep a happy home!! I dont like the bugs, but im not waiting for Help! doesnt do good to bomb your apartment if no one else does. so i zip lock everything, wipe out my cubboards, behind my fridge, stove..set out traps for the damn roaches, and i may see a couple now and then. yes they need some management skills, but i live here and make the best of it!
