I've lived here over a year now and have been pretty happy. Staff is very helpful and responsive-- Justin and Franz in the office, and Ray and Pablo on maintenance. Pablo just did a great job fixing my skylight cover.
There was one night some months ago that two cars got broken into, but nothing else that I know of in the time I've been here. It's actually pretty quiet. I'm at the back of the complex off Muir Drive. And it really helps that this is a single level building-- much quieter than having neighbors above and below.
We're close to the Stevens Creek trail which is great for walking and biking. I also like walking around Sylvan Park which is just down the street.
Things to know: these apartments can get really hot. You will bless having A/C. Also, when plumbing work has to be done in your area of the complex, the water will be shut off for a big block of apartments because it isn't possible to turn it off just for one apartment. Lastly, my unit has mostly ungrounded outlets (built in the 60s), but I think they are upgrading the wiring every time someone moves out, so you probably won't have an issue.
One more plus is that Mountain View has rent control.
