Stadium Village Neighborhood Summary

Stadium Village is an area near the East Bank campus of the University of Minnesota, just east of Dinkytown. Until recently, Stadium Village didn’t technically have a stadium — its name referred to the old Memorial arena, home of the UM Gophers, which was demolished in 1992. Now, though, with the 2009 completion of TCF Bank Stadium, the name makes sense again. A thriving business district, Stadium Village largely caters to the college crowd and includes a fair number of university-owned buildings, including University of Minnesota Aquatic Center and McNamara Alumni Center. Large apartment complexes and developments provide most of the housing.
