The good:
The building is wonderful, nice rooftop lounge area and apartments apartments, amazing area - just be sure to rent from the actual building owners, equity, instead of ANDE.
The bad - do not rent from ANDE:
To start, most of the apartments in this building are run by equity. I am not reviewing equity. I rented from ANDE - a different company that manages some apartments in 2033 Beloit. If you are looking to rent from ANDE - I advise that you do not.
When moving out, their instructions only said to 'leave the keys on the room table.' My roommates confirmed that my keys were left on the kitchen table when I moved out. My roommates further confirmed that an ANDE employee visited the apartment. ANDE then claimed they didn't get the keys.
I apologized for the mix up, but felt that I should still get my full deposit because I followed their move out instructions to the letter. All I was told was to 'leave the keys on the table' - which I did. The ANDE person then said that she told me someone had to be there in person. When I asked her for any correspondence that confirmed that (there wasnt any)- she changed the reason to the living room table not counting as the room table, meaning the bedroom. Literally, the best excuse they have was that room table means bedroom and not living room. On top of this, it took them about 7 total weeks (4 weeks longer than the 3 week legal limit) to return my full security deposit to me. After all this, I feel they wrongly took $100 from my security deposit. I do not know what happened to the keys after I left them where I was told to leave them. All I know is that I fulfilled my contractual obligation - they did not, but they wrongly blamed me and tried to lie about their reasoning.
The same time as this, they tried charging me $75 to change the door locks for the keys disappearing. Thankfully I got replacement keys in the past and reminded them that they dont have to change the door locks for lost keys. They didnt know they didnt need to change the door locks and this seemed to come as a surprise. Thankfully, I was returned my fake door lock charge - over 7 weeks after moving out.
Also, if you rent from ANDE - hopefully you dont lose your key. Unfortunately, this happened once to me and the ANDE landlord told me go to a separate building on Pico Blvd. She told me the people at Pico would be able to give me a key. More unfortunately, the people at Pico did not know me when I arrived and would not give me a replacement key. Eventually the ANDE landlord got back in touch with me and said to go back again. The second time I went back they still did not know me and wouldnt give me a replacement key. Finally, the 3rd time I went back they gave me a key.
In general, communicating with ANDE was less than stellar. You have to text them multiple times to get their attention - and even that isnt guaranteed.
Dont try calling them, theyll just text you back anyway.
Then the door to the front of the building quit working and ANDE wouldnt furnish us with replacement keys nor promptly fix the door. They only sent instructions on using the keypad to some residents - leaving multiple people to be locked outside the building with no idea how to get inside.
