Lewis-Clark State College

Lewiston has around 30,000 residents, yet it’s still the second largest city in northern Idaho. This shows just how remote the region is, as it has more forests and rivers and lakes than it does cities. LCSC, meanwhile, is a small school with many academic possibilities. There are over 3,000 students spread out over 80+ majors here. The majority of the students (63 percent) are female. The school’s campus is located on the border of Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA. Despite what everyone thinks when they glimpse its name, this college isn’t officially tied to Lewis & Clark, the famous explorers (they traveled through this area, actually). But still, I have a feeling they would be thrilled with how many outdoor recreational opportunities are available for students at the school. The Clearwater/Snake River slithers through the region just north of campus, and the Hells Gate State Park, The Nez Perce National Park, and the Winchester Lake State Park are all near LCSC.
