Two star review only for the apartment itself. I've had problems with this management company before I even toured. No one responded to my emails, so I decided to walk in without an appointment. I waited for 30 minutes to be told I needed to come back another day. I finally got Antonio to help me a few days later, after I had mentioned my frustration with the lack of customer service. I said exactly what I was wanting to save us both time, even said I was applying still. I get there to tour and am shown the exact opposite of what I had said I wanted (which wasted my time and made me late for work). I then asked to see the actual unit number that we had discussed prior to the tour, so he showed it to me. The carpet was outdated and stained, but he reassured me that it would be cleaned. I was sold on a renovated apartment but had someones old nasty carpet. I had emailed with follow up questions about the carpet and room dimensions, but was ignored. I then walked in to turn in my application with rental and income verification's, and was told that I would be receiving a waived application fee as a special only for them to go back on that a week later. I had called to schedule a time Monday morning to sign my lease. I walked in, sat there for 30 minutes waiting for one of the employees to type my lease in front of me. What was the point in making the appointment? I had asked to see the carpet again before I signed the lease. Not shocked at this point to see the stains were still there. I could tell the carpet had been shampooed, but if there are still visible green & dog urine stains then the carpet should without a doubt be replaced. I asked to speak with the Property Manager, but was told she was out of town. At this point, I was actually concerned. The only reason I was still signing was because I HAD to move out of my current house. The leasing agent then went over the lease with me, which she didn't know much of because she was new. I was told I wasn't being charged for an admin fee as well ($150) which IS stated in the lease that is signed. I handed her a personal check for my pro-ration, expressed my concerns with the management, and was on my way. The next day I received a call saying I needed to pay online because they cannot accept personal checks for move-ins. I asked if I would be charged a fee to pay online (yes). Why would I agree to that when it was their mess up? I had to leave work the next day to get a money order for them. Two days later and I receive a call saying I owe them $150. Furious now, I demand to speak to a manager. The assistant was busy. She calls me back to tell me Antonio messed up and did not document my special correctly so I would have to pay for my admin fee. I said I signed a legal document saying that was waived she then said she talked to her manager and i would have to pay the $50 application fee, because they cannot offer both. False. I've been a Property Manager in the past and know how all of this works. Not only that but she had NO knowledge of my complaints on the carpet. I was promised a phone call from the Manager on Monday along with visit from maintenance to re-evaluate the carpet. I was home all day and did not receive a call or a visit from maintenance. Today is Tuesday and still nothing. I understand mistakes happen, but for them to be CONSISTENT on a move-in is beyond absurd. This management team is awful, and I will not be recommending this complex to anyone. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

Moved from NJ. This place feels like home is just but a drive away. People here in Knoxville are great, attentive and go the extra mile for others. Thanks to Antonio and Rachael for such a warm welcome to Knoxville. If you dont know your way around, Antonio has TONS of suggestions of awesome places to go.

I lived here for a year from August 2015-2016 and was pretty happy with it. I was in the very back corner building and it was very quiet. The actual apartment was super nice with the remodeled granite countertops and wood floor. I left here to move to Oak Ridge, but was very happy during my time here. The combo washer/dryer was a huge plus and I miss having one of those a lot. The one complaint I have that made this a four star instead of five is that the roaches are a big problem apparently after reading others reviews. I had virtually nothing at all in my apartment in the way of clutter or furniture and I was extremely clean and they still made their way in. I was actually shocked at first, but then it became a routine event. During the warmer months, expect a few per week. Once it cools off in the late fall/early winter, they won't be an issue. I even sprayed the inside and outside perimeter of my apartment with Raid on a weekly basis and it would kill them when they came in, but they would still get in somehow. I figured they crawled in under the screen door given that I was on the ground floor, but I'm not 100% sure. It just sucks to be literally the cleanest person around and still get them. Overall though, outside of some roaches, it was pretty awesome and I'd live here again.

This will be my future home in the next month and I cant be more excited! The location of these apartments are close by restaurants and shopping. The staff I interacted with while leasing my apartment was very friendly and listened to all my needs. The model home was beautiful and I wish I could just live there with all the furniture staged for me :D The indoor pool is the nicest one Ive seen around the area during my apartment search. The prices of the apartments are very reasonable for what you are getting. I cant wait to sit on my balcony enjoying the nice Tennessee weather soon!

Just started living here and let's just say, so far, so AWESOME! The indoor pool is such a plus! Coming home after a late day from work and being able to get in the Jacuzzi is god sent. Staff is friendly and is able to help out in a timely manner. So far, so AWESOME!

I have lived at the Metropolitan for a few months now, and i absolutely love this community! The amenities are a huge plus, as well as the newly renovated apartments. Sydney and Antonio in the office are great, and very helpful. I would highly recommend this community!

New management staff is nice and responsive. I am from Florida, so I am used to seeing a palmetto bugs this time of year. Unfortunately some of the other people here are not. I have quiet neighbors and the indoor pool is the best!

Roaches. Giant roaches. I had them spray for bugs and it didn't help. I ended up buying stuff myself and spraying my own apartment once a month. The trash overflows the dumpster several days a week. There was heavy rain, and I'm guessing a cracked foundation on my ground floor apartment, the carpet was soaked in the bedroom. I was told to "put a fan on it to dry it." A window leaked every time it rained (not where the carpet was wet) Took them a while to "fix" that. And they waited until I had been gone four months to send me a bill for "carpet clean - pet sanitize/odor removal". To me it's a bill for "put a fan on it to dry it" because it's easier to charge me $45 than it is to fix the real issue. I feel sorry for whoever has that apartment now.

Honestly, this place low stars on google, ADOBO and apartment ratings for a reason. The office, PERIOD, POINT BLANK. The area is not bad, it is actually really nice and convenient. The amenities are great, the outdoor pool is not full right now and would have been nice to been notified. However, the pools are beautiful. The apartments are nice. I have read reviews on the bug issue. I have not had this experience thus far. I do get little bugs here and there, but I expect that after rain. Just a little spray and have not seen them since. My issues from day one are from the staff. I have dealt with probably almost everyone in that office. Truly believe communication is the biggest issue. To deal with customers (aka your tenants) you need to learn how to speak. This is my community and I pay to be here and believe I deserve respect. Some individuals in the office lack this. Chelsea has been very kind throughout entire process. Charles was the saving grace and I was very upset to find out he left. I truly thought he would turn this place around and with time he would have. I truly hope they can find someone just as good as him to turn this place around. Fixing the staff fixes the office and thus the entire community. I could get specific on here, however my experiences may not be your exact ones. BUT, problem with the staff is something that is common in all of these posts and I am concurring that.

I gave them two stars only because I am sure there are worse places in the world to live than this. However, I want to be clear that we did not enjoy our experience there. We lived there about a year and a half and we were under 2 different managements. Both were not great. Every time I went into the office the women in there were extremely rude to me and seemed put out. Mind you 10 out of 10 times I was picking up a package I ordered and was delivered there. Nothing out of the ordinary. Every time I called, no one answered. But they would IMMEDIATELY text me and ask me what I needed. I needed to speak to someone on the phone (hence why I called). I never remember giving them permission to text me cell phone. We complained many, many times about the weed being smoked by our downstairs neighbors. They put a threatening letter on the doors of our building ONE time, saying to call them if we smelled it again and they would evict the people smoking. When I called they said there was nothing they could do about it. Our entire apartment smelled like weed constantly. Upon move in I thought the apartment smelled slightly of smoke, when I brought this up they INSISTED it was because they had painted (doesn't make any sense). Once we were in the apartment, we found the source was the master bathroom. It smelled like a chain smoker smoked exclusively in this bathroom for years. We called and they said they would come and clean the vent. They did and nothing changed. The vent needed to be replaced but they refused. The entire time we lived there we had to keep that door closed. As many others said, the trash overflows every other weekend. I'm not sure why they couldn't put another dumpster at the other exit of the complex or have the trash picked up more frequently. Seems like a simple fix. Plus there was a monthly charge for trash so they have the funds. We lived on the top floor and still found cockroaches. You had to request for them to come out and spray, even though you may monthly for the service, they don't come unless you call. The rent is astronomical, be sure to read the fine print. You will pay an arm and a leg and your first child to break your lease. Their "specials" are not exactly as advertised. We paid a deposit when we moved in under the first management, when we moved out, they said they could not pay it back because they were a different company and did not have access to those funds. Even though it was clearly part of our lease agreement. That should have been hashed out with the former owners somehow, tenants shouldn't have to lose their money because ownership changed. Overall it was really dirty. Outside the apartments, in the stairwells, on the roads, people just left their trash everywhere. People also never picked up after their dogs. Parking was terrible, there were never places close to the door. It seemed like there were lots of extra cars that never moved. I'm sure there were more issues that I am not thinking of over the year and a half we were there. We were counting down the days until we moved out. This is so lengthy, not to show how many issues there were, but hopefully to show that it wasn't just one thing or occasion that made us "mad," but we are pretty reasonable people and were good tenants - this is simply not a quality apartment complex, and you will pay like it is. Overall, if I had a friend looking for an apartment in Knoxville I would 100% steer them clear of the Metropolitan.

I love living here! The staff are very friendly and have been able to help with my move and setting me up here in Knox. Before I even moved in, I was able to handle all paperwork from outside the country and helped me transition to TN. The amenities are amazing, with grills, 2 pools, a gym, laundry mat, and sports right on the property. The maintenance staff had to be called my first week living here and they were prompt, polite and (most importantly) fast. I would recommend this location for anyone looking for a nice community to live in.

I just moved to the Metropolitan apartments and let me tell you that this is LITERALLY THE BEST EXPERIENCE I have had, not necessarily with the move because there is no perfect move but with the super friendly staff that made everything very very easy and welcoming. I have to give a big SHOUTOUT for Antonio!! He is the busy bee of the office, he doesnt cease to make peoples days! At first I moved into a small appartment that (after signing the lease I realized it wasnt for me and didnt like that my neighbor was a smoker and I am mildly asthmatic); so Antonio moved me the next day to another better apartment with a nice view and non smoking neighbors. I was very lucky to get the more spacious apartment upgrade, it finally feels like home again :) I feel very happy to be here. I would highly recommend this place, just if youre not comfortable with the smell of smoke make sure to get a unit away from smoking neighbors because this building allows smoking. I know for a fact that the office staff will do everything in their power to make sure that youre comfortable in your new home. Also this place is great, they have a heated indoors pool, people come to swim in the middle of snow season! Also we have a nice business center with a 2 floor gym. I am a student so i come and study at their community center all the time. They have complimentary snacks and coffee as well. I cant ask for more, the apartments have hardwood floors, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and a laundry machine and the prices are very very decent compared to the rest of the market.

Overpriced for what you get. Older complex with obvious recent renovations. Thin walls, lots of bugs, shoddy upgrades and electrical outlets. Office is a revolving door with new people working there all the time. Recently changed hands. Look closely at what you're about to get before you sign. Look at your actual apartment not the model. The pool area is nice and the amenities are great. Was not fond of the fact I could hear the people around me simply talking.

The staff here is so friendly and helpful! Antonio was my leasing agent and he was absolutely amazing! My furniture arrived at my apartment 3 days earlier than expected, but unfortunately I had not moved to Knoxville yet. I was so afraid that someone would steal it so I gave the office a call. Antonio was kind enough to place the packages in my apartment for me! Hes been such a great help! Definitely recommend staying here.

I needed to move real quick and they did not have an apartment that day because they were so full. YIKES!!! However, they moved fast to get my apartment ready. It felt AWESOME to be in a new apartment within 24 hours knowing that I might not have had the chance because their earliest move in date was 1/19. The team here has something awesome going on. From leasing, to management to OF COURSE the maintenance team doing what had to be done to make it happen this fast. Where I saw a problem, they saw a lack of a solution and got it done. The best part about this (and the reason why I am writing this review) is the fact that every time I went to the office it was super busy and He was the only one taking care of all of us, (like at least 10 in the office at one point) and everyone left happy, no issues no delays. Long story short I appreciate that Tony took such care to details with all that was going on, treated everyone with respect and did not seemed "rushed" or anxious. Maintenance worked their butts off too and as a result, a Happy new tenant whose only concern is making time to enjoy the awesome amenities. -Abbad

This place is great! The staff has really got a good thing going here. They were thoughtful and attentive to all our needs and got us moved with no problem! We rented an apartment for my little sister while she goes to Ross U and they have made the transition for us super easy. My only complaint is I wish they had a garbage disposal but overall the apartments are nice and clean. I would highly recommend living here. The amenities lived up to all the hype they have posted online as well. Cant wait to use the hot tub!

I would recommend checking these out if youre looking for a new place to live in West Knoxville!

Hands down best customer service!!! Antonio Lugardo was not only able to help us secure the apartment we needed, but kept looking until he found the perfect one for our daughter. We were worried because our daughter is here for school and we are far away, but everything he did for us was superb. I wish more people took care of customers this way. On our move in date we were running late and since we were driving from far we were worried we were not going to make it in time. Throughout our journey we kept in contact and he stayed a little late in order to accommodate us. When we arrived, all the paperwork was ready for us and he explained so well we had only one question. How was he so excited and happy to see us? We arrived late, in a bad humor, probably looked like crazy people (I mean I know I did, my hair was unkempt and looked like I needed 3 days of sleep). However, with his professionalism, good sense of humor, patience (for all the annoying questions) and attention to detail he took us from hating our 14 hour drive to having a pleasant afternoon in our daughter's new apartment within minutes! It made us feel accomplished. After that day we noticed there was a problem with our shower head (ended up being that it had been frozen with water) and maintenance came by within two hours of our call. We feel like our daughter is in an amazing place were living is smooth and if something comes up it is taken care of in a hasty manner. We made the right choice!! Everyone likes to complain, but few take the time to say something good about the people who make a difference. It is the small things that make us feel like they care.

UPDATE: things are getting worse. There are loud car radios at all hours of the night. My car was broken into on Christmas eve. Too many drugs, bugs and loud neighbors. There is only one garbage dumpster and it is always over flowing and smelly. There are flees and mites that I can not get rid of. Hornets have nested on the patio. The smell of pot is overwhelming in the stairwell. The neighbor's dog barks and yips constantly; and the people fight, slam doors and bang into the walls. The courtesy officer refused to address the problem. This is not the first occasion but the 5th. In the next building, a tenant had his car smashed and totaled while parked in the parking lot. There are fees for everything and they will try to overcharge you if you don't keep a watch on your bills. The pools are nice but do not make it worth living here. I can not wait till our lease is up.

The rent is more expensive than the apartment is worth. I also hit you with a really big bill within your first two months of living there. Its probably in the FinePrint somewhere but thats the part they make sure they dont tell you about verbally. The pool on the inside is obviously the best part of the complex.

I never wanted to live in an apartment, but moving to The Metropolitan was one of the best decisions I have made! My husband and I moved in with our two pets in late 2016 and it has been the best experience we have had renting anywhere! All of the staff are super friendly and helpful, they really go the extra mile to help out their tenants. We only had one problem when we first moved, our dishwasher didn't work, but as soon as I alerted them they had someone come out and fix it. It was quick and painless! Also our one bedroom apartment is so perfect! It's a great size and the layout is on point! We also really enjoy the amenities they are a definite perk to the residents, but I do wish the pool was open til at least midnight, ten is a little early in my opinion. I also love how pet friendly the place is, having a dog and a cat were a big concern for us when we were looking at places and the Metropolitan exceed all our expectations! And the last thing I would like to add is that my husband and I had read some of the reviews and were super worried about bugs, roaches in particular, but I am happy to say that we have not had a single problem so don't fret! I would definitely recommend place to friends and family. So thank you Metropolitan for changing my views on Apartment living!!!

Coming to grad school I wanted a positive environment while I continue my Graduate Studies. The Metropolitan Apartments went above and beyond the call every time. Work order are solved quickly and efficiently. Rent statements are on time and are even available via email. The work out area is always clean. Oh! All the amenities make the complex feel like home. Breakfast is always available in the front office or even a quick snack and coffee. When my dog passed away last year, members from the front office helped handle all the arrangements and even gave me a portrait of my dog. Everyone in the front office is sweet, kind and generous. I could not ask for a better place to live. I'm sad to go but my time in Tennessee is almost up.

Color me impressed! I took a tour today with a vibrant young woman that showed me around this beautiful community. I haven't seen amenities such as these anywhere besides LA or New York. The apartments themselves are some of the best bang for buck I've ever been privy to. There's absolutely no reason NOT to rent here. My suggestion would not be to walk there but RUN and apply now. If they ever become aware just what diamond in the rough they have, prices will skyrocket!
