My husband and I moved here 8 months ago and have loved this community. While there were a few bumps along the road, everything was handled with professionalism and a smiling face. Weve loved that this was our first home in Nashville! If youre interested, make sure to ask for Courtney! Shes the greatest!!!

Edited May 1: The complex area is quiet and fairly clean. Squirrel issue currently being handled. Awaiting repair of holes in siding but looks like its just a few buildings close to the wooded area around Nashville Shores. The positive is the staff has gotten better at communication. Maintanence is arriving in a more prompt fashion. They do the best they can. Still not sure I will resign but its getting better here for the most part.

The complex area is quiet and clean. Neighbors are very cool but The Apartment itself has various maintenance issues. A squirrel has been living in my walls since before I moved in. I can see this lil guy through a hole in my wall. Feisty sucker! The towel racks do not hold the towels they just break apart. The showers hold water meaning you are showering in a pool of dirty water. Nasty. All these issues have been fixed before only to break or in the case of the squirrel, made a new holes in my walls. The positive is the staff has gotten better at communication. Maintanence is arriving in a more prompt fashion. They do the best they can. If you look here all buildings have large holes in the side of them indicating its a widespread squirrel issue.

I was illegally charged $1,135 five months after my lease ended with this apartment. When I called to see how this could have happened, assuming it was a computer glitch, the office manager refused to take responsibility and offered almost no help. I have not been refunded my money and am now working with my bank to dispute the charge, which could take more than a month. I would recommend avoiding this apartment complex at all costs.

The complex area is quiet and clean. Neighbors are very cool but...., The Apartment itself has various maintenance issues. I have submitted multiple issues via email and resident portal and received no response for weeks. This isnt the first time this has happened. Also previous tenants payment information was still on my account for this months payment. The first few months I paid rent the information was not on the account. However for some reason the portal locked me out and wouldnt let me submit work orders or make a payment so I had to call in to get this fixed. At this point she mustve placed the previous tenants payment information back on the account. When I paid rent they pulled it from the previous tenants checking account which caused a major headache. For months I tried to get them to put my name on the account as it showed the previous tenants name on the account. I am now in month four a living here and they just now got this fixed. I called about a maintenance issue on a Friday and was told I would receive a call back from Courtney and she never even called me back I had to reach back out to them the next week to get the issue fixed. The place is not sealed correctly and Ive had to throw out over 200 ladybugs the past four months. Every day I come in my home there are multiple lady bugs flying around all over the walls. When I called today to complain about the rent issue Angela told me she would not talk to me because I have an attitude and was disrespecting her although I was not cussing at her at all. She just couldnt handle the direct talk that I was giving her. I feel like she is discriminating against me based on being a strong willed man. The fact that she said I had an attitude and was disrespecting her is what leads me to believe she is discriminating against me. This is probably why my issues are not getting fixed inside of the apartment. Theyve had a squirrel issue inside of the closets for since the last tenant was here and they still havent fixed it.

The maintenance staff is nice enough but never on the same page. I had 3 different staff members work on the same leak from the ceiling (over the span of a week) and all give me different reasons it was happening. I was also promised the area would be repainted once it dried, that was 6 months ago. Angela, the manager, acts like everything is an inconvenience for her. Recently they sent out an email saying the online system for maintenance request was down and to call the office, so I did and got so much attitude and got cut off before I could fully explain the issue. The windows aren't sealed correctly and allow for insect entry. The walls are paper thin! I can tell you exactly where my upstairs neighbors are in their apartment at any given time because I hear every move they make. The apartments are super old, and whoever they contracted for their upgrade was awful. Don't be fooled by the model!!! I signed a lease based on the model I saw (I was relocating from out of town for a job) and was very disappointed when I saw my actual apartment. They don't maintain the outside of the apartments, where spiders and their webs run rampant. There is dog poop EVERYWHERE! The trash compactor is always broken. All they do is send out passive aggressive emails for these issues. I've been here 8 months and have yet to see any pest control maintenance. The upgrades are shotty at best. Don't waste your time here! I NEVER leave reviews but if this even saves one person the hassle I'm experiencing it's worth it. Counting down until my lease is up!!!

In my experience living at Highlands at the Lake has been wonderful. I got transferred to the Nashville area & only had 2 week to find a place- I work in retail mind you- this was during the holiday season. I had to work every day prior to the last day in my extended stay in a hotel. Not to mention that my girlfriend still lived at home & neither of us knew the area. We had come across Highlands at the lake the day we were about to sign a lease somewhere else in a not so good area offering way less with a huge increase in cost too. Here is the kicker, if we were going to move in it was going to have to be THAT day. So as you can assume our options would be limited. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the staff. They showed us the apartments & we loved the style & uniqueness they had to them. Very quite community hidden among trees. When they told us the prices they were a bit over our budget & there was no way we could make that price work. My girlfriend nor I had ever lived on our own. The staff was patient & helpful with walking us through the steps to the whole process. We've been here for 6 months & we don't plan on leaving this complex until we either move out of state or we decide to settle in Nashville & buy a house. So a HUGE thank you to Highlands at the Lake staff. This really does feel like home.

When I lived there the staff was friendly the pest guy came by and was nice and so was the maintenance guy.... I stayed for 2 years then moved out of state ... never had any problems and they helped me make a move when I had a family emergency .... this was a really great experience for me

These are older apartments and need some work. When they used to be Spinnaker Cove, they didn't really take care of the place. The new management company came in and did some cleaning, repainting and general repairs to get everything working. We looked at these apartments a few times and could immediately tell a difference when the new company took over. We chose to go elsewhere because for the price they're asking for those old apartments you can go up the road and get in newer/nicer ones without paying more. I've heard the new company is now starting to let the place go downhill but I haven't had to deal with them so I just don't know. I do know they're overpriced and you're better off looking around a little more. Ciao!

Terrible experience with these apartments. Very rude staff that does not respond to communication efforts. Moved out over 2 months ago and still have not received security deposit or itemized list of why it is being held. Multiple attempts to straighten this out have been ignored by staff. Would not recommend this place to anyone. There are much more affordable apartments in Hermitage that offer nicer amenities with friendlier staff.
