There are 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units. All 2 and 3 bedroom units have 2 full bathrooms. Nineteen units are set aside for adults with disabilities earning less than 30% AMI and will have project based voucher support. These are a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom units. There are 7 market rate, or unrestricted units, which are a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom units. There are 50 units, a mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units, that are restricted to individuals and families making <60% AMI. Thirty (30) of the units have a senior preference, where the head of household is over 62 years of age.

Patuxent Commons is expected to open in Fall 2025. Leasing appointments will begin after the lottery, and move-in dates will be scheduled accordingly.

You will be notified by email of your lottery number shortly after the registration period closes. Leasing appointments will then be scheduled in lottery number order.

A project-based voucher is a form of rental assistance tied to specific units. Tenants pay approximately 30% of their adjusted monthly income toward rent, and the voucher covers the rest.

Once all units are filled, a waitlist will be created from remaining lottery registrants. If you did not register, you may still contact the leasing office to see if a waitlist application is available.

We are using a housing lottery to ensure a fair and equitable process for all applicants. The registration period is open for 10 days. Once it closes, all registrants will receive a lottery number. Leasing appointments will be scheduled in lottery number order, and once units are filled, the remaining applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
