I lived at Brandychase for a little under a year, and I had an overall positive experience. There are a lot of existing complaints from others about parking, but I have to confess that I never had any issues with parking at this place. Sometimes the spots directly in front of the building were occupied, but I just parked around the corner, which caused me to have to walk 50 extra feet. No big deal. Also, my girlfriend came to visit every weekend and she always had somewhere to park!
There are 3 things about this property that really stood out to me, in a positive way. The first was the really well-maintained pool that is available for residents and guests of residents. They have 2 full-size pools, and they were always crystal clear and clean while I was staying there. The staff are pretty zealous about keeping trespassers out of the pool area, but I actually liked that.
The second great feature I really enjoyed was the fitness center that is included free-of-charge. Compared to other places' free fitness centers, I felt like this one was a cut above. Most places have a couple machines and no free weights, but at Brandychase they have a few treadmills, a few machines, and some decent free weights.
The third feature I loved was the wooded atmosphere, and the location. This complex is right off of Beechmont Avenue, which is a heavy-traffic road, but the heavily wooded grounds makes you forget that you are in the city. Very nice. The place is also very close to I-275, which is one of Cincinnati's major highways.
I thought the price was very competitive relative to the features you get. I was paying about $725 for a 2-bedroom, which is a little higher than average for "outside the 275 loop", but I felt that the features were also highly above average, which justified the price. Finally, I had an extremely positive experience with the management when I told them that I would have to leave the apartment about 2 months early. They did not charge me any fees to leave early, which I greatly appreciated.
My only negative comment is regarding the security deposit. Unfortunately, I have to confirm what others are saying - Brandychase will find a way to keep your security deposit. When I left the apartment, I cleaned it vigorously, to where it was actually much cleaner than when I had moved in. However, Brandychase noted an oil stain on the drywall in the kitchen, and withheld my entire security deposit due to that. I have deducted a star because of that experience.
Overall I think Brandychase offers a decent value, and features that are above-average compared to others in the area.
