If you're looking for a little side of learning with your fun, tour the Carolinas Aviation Museum and take a look at the rich aircraft collections house there.

Looking for a more relaxing experience? Take a turn around the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 380 acres of flourishing gardens and a conservatory running right to the banks of Lake Wylie. It’s difficult to truly experience Charlotte without attending one of its famous events. At Taste of Charlotte, you can take a stroll on Tryon Street as you chow down on some delicious local cuisine (for free!) and listen to live music. Nerds and fun-seekers alike can revel in one of the country’s largest renaissance fairs, courtesy of the Carolina Renaissance Festival. This 22-acre marketplace offers a circus, arts and crafts, jousting, and amazing period-inspired food.

Even the most seasoned shoppers are sure to find some incredible destinations in Charlotte. The city offers its fair share of shopping malls, each with their own particular character. Lovers of brand names and an upscale atmosphere can head over to the SouthPark Mall to enjoy the many clothing and specialty shops. If you love a variety, then look no further than Carolina Place, which features over 140 name brands throughout the entire mall. Charlotte boasts beloved sports teams from all levels, from collegiate to national. College football and basketball is popular in all of North Carolina and Charlotte is no exception.
