This was a very nice apt community at first... then new management took over and things quickly went downhill (not saying its 100% new management fault) but 1. the courtesy officer number doesnt work. (Guessing they fired/eliminated) 2. The vandalism! Both me and my wife car have been damaged here!! 3. Someone took screws out of my wifes car bumper (like why???) 4. Someone stole my temporary tags from my vehicle.. (I reported stolen and hope they get caught) 5. Litter everywhere... big roaches everywhere outside, stray animals. 6. The noise from neighbors (yes I know apt living 101 right?? But paper thin walls! 7. The noise!! Apparently it this place becomes club w flats every night... especially on weekend the music never stops. Shaking the apts!! 8. The broken gate... why is the gate even there?? People just driving through the exiting gate... 9. People outside all night long.... 10!. The price just doesnt justify the price increase for all the hassle you have to go through.

Moved in a few months ago and it has been great so far! The apartments have recently been renovated, and although its nothing high end, its still really nice! Prices are also great considering what $800 can get you these days in Charlotte. Maintenance is excellent and always friendly. Gets a bit loud sometimes with people at the pool and a few neighbors, but that comes with living in an apartment and its summer, so doesn't bother too much. Overall, a great community!

The worst apartment to live at if you value your belongings. If you want to have floods,break ins, or have your vehicle damaged please move here. Property management has been changed more than should even be legal. The lack of knowledge and concern displayed by the office staff is disturbing. I have watched the property deteriorate over the past 2 years at a rate that warrants some investigation. The rent goes up and the property is next to another apartment community that constantly has police presence because of the crime rate. A neighbor was robbed in the parking and no one showed concern. Another neighbor had their apartment broken into and the maintenance staff told the residents that there was no need to call the police. The police were contacted and it speaks volumes when the police say that it would be a good idea to move. Do not be fooled by the name because the property does not live up to the fancy name it carries. Renters beware!!

I moved into W Flats Sept of 2016 I've had an amazing experience since I have been here. Community always stays clean, my neighbors are really quiet. Anytime I have an issue with my apt maintenance is always there to fix it in a timely manner. The office staff is always so nice to me and they answer any questions that I have. I recommend this neighborhood to anyone.

Good price for what you get, but there are some major problems. Neighborhood is supposed to be gated but the gate is broken half the time. When the gate is working expect the drug dealers to be waiting outside the gate hoping a resident opens the gate so they can sneak in behind them.There are also tons of non residents taking up the limited parking available, and the company does very little to remedy this. All that being said the staff is friendly, the prices are good, and maintenance is responsive.

BEWARE of this place! The model room they showed me was much different than the apartment I moved into. I was so disappointed and unhappy. They said it was renovated but at MOST it was slightly updated. First of all, the place smelled like cigarette smoke and they did a horrible job of cleaning it and getting it ready for me to move in. Hair was all over my bathroom and tools were left from maintainence. I also ended up finding an old joint in the sunroom. If they know someone is about to move in for at least a year, why not try a LITTLE harder to make it presentable and liveable? I stayed there for a month before I realized I was too unhappy to stay. I requested they let me break my lease after showing them how dirty and smelly my apartment was. I also showed them so many things that they failed to replace before I moved in. They wouldn't let me leave. They said the best they could offer was to let me transfer for free into another apartment. The only other one available was next door and I would be paying $100 more a month. When I went to look at it, it was definitely an improvement, but still not worth the price. I paid to have all of my stuff moved (again) into the new place because I knew there was no way I could survive in the other. The new one still smells bad (more of a mold smell) and although it's more updated... everything was done so cheap! There are parts of the floor lifting and the counter top has bumps in it where air pockets are forming (everything is plastic). Lastly, the walls are SO thin. If you're a light sleeper like me then good luck. I can hear the person next door to me use the bathroom. They have laundry on site but only half of them work and they're very small. Also they're very cheap so they easily ruin anything delicate. Although certain staff are friendly (they had a turnover in management and staff since I moved in) others are extremely dumb. I had to ask about my maintainence requests several times and they kept making excuses. Once the maintenance people came they left their tools in my apartment.. again! I've heard neighbors also talking about how terrible their place is. I would highly recommend looking for something else.

ROACHES EVERYWHERE. Unfortunately I'm stuck in this lease for almost a year. They literally had to move me into a different unit because they were constantly coming. Excuse me Water bugs and I understand they are outdoor bugs but they were in my house and that's one thing I cant stand. I'm now on the 2nd floor and it helped somewhat but just knowing at some point I may have them in my house is disturbing. I open my door with caution so they don't come in. They are on the building. On the steps. In the parking lot. Its gross. And it seems you only see them at night(probably because they're looking for somewhere warm). If I could break my lease and not have to deal with ridiculous amounts of fees I ABSOLUTELY WOULD because it ridiculous

This apartment complex is the worst place to live. If you like having strangers breaking in all the time, people vandalizing your car and property, and office management that doesn't give a crap about any of it or can't manage to get your a/c fixed after five days in 96 degree heat, then this is the place for you. Jennifer in the office has a nasty attitude too. Would never recommend to anyone.

DO NOT choose this apartment complex. It's a bad area of town first of all. Cops are often there. The gates never work, the pool is flooded with people from surrounding complexes and housing. The maintenance crew is lazy, slow, and never fix anything properly. Don't be surprised if it takes a maintence request weeks to be addressed, let alone fixed (if it even gets fixed after they come by). The laundry facility is DISGUSTING. Rarely gets cleaned, half the machines don't work and are constantly leaking causing horrible odors and you'll be walking around in almost standing water. You can walk through the pool area to the laundry facility, gym, and BBQ grills but they often randomly put bike locks around the gate forcing you to either hop the fence or do without. The trash carts stay over flowing and trash is constantly left blowing around the parking lot and smells terrible. There is a fenced area for dogs but the fence is damaged and useless in several spots, and it seems no one picks up their dog's feces there or anywhere else. There's a high number of non-residents parking in reserved resident only spots, however, they towed my car after I had been a resident for over a year, then didn't reimburse me. Many people park crooked taking up two spots but management, again doesn't care to address it. In addition, people will often pull up in a parking cove area not in a parking spot and leave their car running blocking in several residents cars. Once again, management does nothing. I lost count of how many times my girlfriend and I were late to work waiting for these idiots to move their car. I could keep going but that covers most of it. The only reason I wrote such a lengthy bad review is because I would have appreciated knowing what I know now about this slum before we moved in. Management truly cares more about the grass and shrubbery outside the office building looking prestine in order to maintain a good outward appearance but cares little about the residents. Very "bottom-dollar" oriented ownership. Zero stars. I would give negative stars if I could.

I have been living in this community for almost two years and I have not had any issues. All the lovely ladies at the front desk are very nice and try to help with any issue the best way they can. This is a Pet friendly community with a new gated pet area which I love, and many more upgrades are in process to this community. I love it here!

I have been here for 6 years. With many life changes over the 6 years, it has been great coming to this apartment to just relax and be safe. The staff especially Jessica and Antoine is super nice and become great support over the years. It has the largest pool, great grills, laundry, and even public computers where I do printing and all. I just transfer to another apartment (which I have been in a one bedroom and now a two bedroom) in the complex and this is the best. It has white cabinets, great view of the pool, and of course their signature LARGE closet. In the last six years, the first time the apartment has changed management. They came in and in just a few months making the apartment more beautiful with renovating the pool, painting the whole place, and much more to come. Thank to all the staff (new girl Jennifer great and Ilda) for making this my home!

I hated living her for the 6 months I did, the first day we moved in the garbage disposal blew up and spit up food everywhere it was freaking disguisting, then the ceiling in the bathroom collapsed due to a pipe busting the maintenence disn't know what they were doing they didn't fix pipe they just patched ceiling, then the floor in living room has holes everywhere due to the foundation breaking but what did maintence do they stuffed holes with freaking carpet Rachael in the office is a freaking idiot you can't ask her shit cuz she doesn't know anything when I moved out I left trash outside door and they saying I owe 500 for the trash see if you get my money 'steeplechase'

So ive been here for about 2 years luckily my lease is up in sept thank the lord lol seriously tho. When I first moved here It was still called steeplechase and was AWSOME but its like after they started to change companies it started to FAIL TERRIBLY. The staff is good very friendly and cool but the maintenance is ASS like TERRIBLE dnt let anything break because its going to be broke for at least 2 weeks Minimum. My ac has been out for almost a MONTH its 85-90 degrees outside and the only thing they did was give me a portable unit which doesn't cool the entire apartment it cools ONE room so im trapped like a slave in one room on top of that I have a "upgraded" apt which is NOT upgraded it has the DOWNGRADED features but I do pay the "upgraded" rent which baffles me. I wish anyone GOOD LUCK if u stay here

WORST PLACE TO LIVE. I've been at this neighborhood for the last two years. the only office staff that is willing to help is Jessica, DONT GO TO THE OTHERS RUDEEEEEE especially Rachael. the gate stays broken with random people in the parking lot all night. the neighborhood next door always hangs over the broken gate and the kids from the other neighborhood use it to hang out. THE WALLS ARE THIN. my AC has broken multiple times takes DAYSSSSS to fix. my boyfriend and I have had so many issues with the drawers in the kitchen as well as bathroom fall apart. plus the rent is way too high to live in this dysfunctional neighborhood. RECENTLY I had money disappear from the apartment from my bedroom while the maintance people were in there. once September hits we are gone. FORGOT to mention HEAR GUN SHOTS NON STOP NOT SAFE.

I have only lived here for 6 months and I am ready for my lease to be up so I can move. The leasing company has changed 3 times since I have been here, one time after we had already paid rent to the previous one. It seems like the police are here every other day for some reason or another. The girls that work in the office are nice but it seems like you have to remind them 2 or 3 times if you need something done like fixing a running toilet or a broken cabinet which still isn't fixed right. The maintenance guys are all nice I just feel like they don't care. I would never live here again and can't wait to move.

Terrible management. Have lived here for almost 2 years and its only gotten worse. From my experience, maintenance can take days to repair your problem and when they do it, it is done too quick and isn't always done properly. They leave a mess. Service in the rental office is terrible. Community manager and associates seem nice... But after they get you to sign the lease, you notice soon they begin to become stuck up and have attitudes sometimes. Also, water is FREE... BUT it cuts off for a day at least once a month or more to "repair a water leak" - 3 times in December of 2011 so far and counting... Inconvenient, and plus this apartment complex is ancient. It is not so much a gated community... The gate hand is broken every night so people can follow you in when it is. So much for safety. Car break ins, attempted rape, and shootings have occurred on the property in recent time. Be sure to do a crime report before moving here. I can't wait until my lease is up!
