This was my first time living in a traditional apartment complex and I was beyond apprehensive about it. Luckily the management has always been very kind and make sure we are happy! The complex is quiet and relaxing. I love the gym and the pool! This is also a pet friendly complex which is a huge reason why chose this location. Also rent is manageable for me while working less and going to school full time. Thank you to Marissa, Brian and Michelle for always being nice and answering my questions and dealing with maintenance right away. I definitely recommend this place!

I have lived here for a little over two years now and I have no complaints. I have an awesome view of the Sandras from my top floor apartment. Its a peaceful complex, calmer than what I thought when I first moved for being right off of Montgomery with the racing cars lol. The staff has been the best part of my stay here. Michael and Marissa have been awesome with always keeping everything up to date and making sure that my apartment is always okay these two women are amazing and very kind, know what they are talking about. And the maintenance staff is just as awesome. Thank you all for all the hard work you do and making me always feel safe. I greatly appreciate where I live(:

My experience at Candlelight Square has been AMAZING! The staff is always helpful, there's no request too big or too small, they are always willing to help! I'm visually impaired, and my son had his first homework project, A Family Tree! I knew I was going to have a hard time with that, so my son and I went to the office! Ms. Marissa, got everything together for us, she made copies of all the pictures, cut them out and glued them on the poster board for me. She even practiced with my 4 year old to make sure he was ready to show his class! Marissa and MIchelle are more than just your average property managers, they go above and beyond for their residents.

Candlelight square had been my home for the last 2 years. My experience with them has been great. My apartment isn't the nicest but the ladies in the office are the only reason I still live here. Marissa has been kind to me and making sure all my needs are met. Michelle the office manager always has a freindly attitude and gets thing done promptly. These ladies make my experience here like no other place I've lived. They actually care what's going on in my life and their residents well being. I will continue to stay here as long as these wonderful ladies are here.

I recommend the Candlelight apartments to anyone who is looking for somewhere to live. Thank you for providing a wonderful place for my son and my self to live!

Price of rent is fair. Was happy about the gate when we moved in but it seems to not be working most of the time, always open. Elementary isn't too far. Close to grocery store. Neighbors are good. Maintenance isn't very great. Still waiting on a laundry room door, been since 2nd week in April when the upstairs neighbors washer flooded into our apartment. Thing I hate the most is the German Cockroaches. Office merely sprays if at all. See roaches every night in my kitchen. I hate eating in my apartment. I can get an exterminator for $147/hr. Really rethinking resigning the lease.

We have been living at Candlelight Square apartments for over six years, and just love it here!!! The office staff: Diana, Michelle, and Jessica are outstanding, helpful, and very friendly. The maintenance staff: Ray and Tony are wonderful; always fix the problem quickly, great service with a smile :) Most the staff actually lives on-site which I really like. The location is suburb; its near several different bus routes to the mall, UNM, CNM, and grocery stores. Neighbors are very friendly, quiet, mostly retirees/Veterans/families.

A horrible place. My stay/opinion, up to the time I left in 2014. The "business center" is one old desktop running XP, hogged by kids playing games. The "hot" tub is gross. Gym equipment has smashed displays, perhaps by the unruly kids from the adjoining section 8 apartment who infest the pool daily. Creepy ice cream trucks are allowed to troll the campus for 15 minutes per day, blaring jingles. Unsightly dumpster doors are left open constantly by the lazy maintenance staff. Lots of abandoned cars. Cops called regularly. SWAT lockdown once. Unsafe security lighting. Tenant below me, a complete stranger, asked if I had any heroin I could sell him. My apartment itself was great as was the rent. Look, if you ARE trailer park trash, this place is definitely for you cuz most of your neighbors absolutely are. If not, don't let the security gate, slick brochure, and colorful paint fool you. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

The review left by "a google user" either got paid to write that, or it is a person that works at Candlelight. Because that is the total opposite of the experience I have had. The management is absolutely terrible. Came home after a long night of work and could not get into the gate because management changed the codes and did not inform any of the residents. There are unsupervised children literally running in the streets and all around the complex. Alcohol bottles are littered throughout. Lots of trashy drunk people. The fire alarm goes off at least once a month in the middle of the night for no reason. The management will lose your rent checks.. more than once. The police are called out at least once a week because of domestic violence situations. Direct tv sales people walk around like 3 times a month knocking on your door trying to sell you stuff. One of the most annoying things that they do is go around the parking lot and if your tags are expired they will put a massive orange sticker on your window that is nearly impossible to take off. Do your best to not live here.

Management doesn't return phone calls or take responsibility. I moved out a few months and was trying to square my bills with them. I called and was told the onsite manager would call me back in "10 minutes." That was Monday. I didn't get a call back until Thursday. When I finally did get her on the line I requested that the apartments cover a utility bill that I inadvertently left in my names. This was about four months after I moved out. They declined, even though they were the ones responsible for usage of the utility. I then asked to speak to the onsite manager's boss, but never received a call back from her. The utility company itself was happy to work with me and said they did this on a regular basis. Candlelight Square, however, saw an opportunity to keep an extra $100 from a reliable, quiet, and stable renter. Don't move in here! There are many places in the neighborhood with the exact same amenities and prices, but that provide good customer service.

I've been living here for about a year. At first it was pretty decent but that changed. The management is terrible. They have lost my rent check on MULTIPLE occasions and charged me a late fee ( mind you I've never been late on paying.). They never give a 24 hour notice for maintenance its more like 9-12 hour. The parking is TERRIBLE. I live on the top floor so you'd think oh okay no noise, wrong! The tenants diagonally below me are so incredibly noisy I can hear them ALL the time. So walls are super thin. My apartment is super outdated. Oh and don't get me started on the CRIME!!! The gates hardly ever work. cars have been vandalized and broken into here. Plus you get the regular view of homeless people digging through their dumpsters on a regular basis. Your swamp cooler sucks too. you CANNOT decide when you want it on and off ( at least in my apartment anyway) Its about 75 outside and I walk in to my apartment and its 85. So They haven't even switched over. Just sucks when your bathroom cabinets are like sunken in to the floor, only 2 of my stove burners work, my oven can't cook for anything, and the way they design closets is an absolute joke plus no ceiling fan in my living room also sucks. take it from me, you can do better. I searched all of Albuquerque to find another apartment perfect for me. But if you like management who sucks, appliances that suck, noisy neighbors, your car getting broken into and watching homeless people search for food in your dumpster then be my guest. So glad my lease is finally up!!!

I've been happy here, and have lived in several other apartments for comparison. The office staff is very friendly and have responded to and fixed any maintenance repairs that I've requested within 24 hours without fail. Unheard of, as far as I'm concerned. The maintenance staff are friendly and knowledgeable, as well. The grounds are maintained regularly, with an outside crew here at least once a week doing landscaping. There are pretty good amenities, with a pool, small gym, sauna, and hot tub. One small complaint, though, is that the pool seems to be closed fairly often, sometimes for obvious refilling and sometimes with no apparent cause. It's dog-friendly, with a fenced-in area for dogs to "go," and either residents do a pretty good job of picking up after their dogs (outside the designated area, anyway,), or the landscapers/other staff do. The apartments are probably average-sized for this price range (about $650 with pet fees for full-size 1 bedroom, plus utilities for me) and at least in mine, the carpet was brand new when I moved in, and the appliances are all decent and working. It has a swamp cooler, which works fairly well, and central heating. In my apartment there is also a fireplace, and they all have large balconies, some with good mountain views. Overall I'm satisfied with my experience at Candlelight, and it's certainly better than some of my previous apartment experiences.
