Schenk-Atwood Neighborhood Summary

When the Isthmus calls a neighborhood "The soul of Madison", it's probably time to pay attention.

And that's exactly what they're saying about the Schenk-Atwood Neighborhood (also referred to as the Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara Neighborhood. Yeah, we think Schenk-Atwood is a little better, too).

While the Schenk-Atwood Neighborhood is just on the edge of being truly downtown Madison, perhaps the best way to think of it - with its combination of local great restaurants, watering holes, and sources of entertainment - is as a self-contained enclave of Madison that's also within walking or biking distance of the Capitol Square.

There is way too much going on in this hub of artsy entertainment for us to bore you with it. We'll let the professionals from the Isthmus do the heavy lifting in describing this neighborhood.

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
