I loved the staff, maintenance was great! Very dog friendly, and I really enjoyed our actual apt. Downside to living here was safety and parking! Both my husband and Is cars got broken into. I caught men trying to steal a motorcycle and they almost hit my car with their truck after I pulled up behind them. The office assures people its safe but since they dont own the parking garage, its up to the city and they dont and wont do anything about it. Moving out was a little difficult because we decided to paint. The office did take a very long time getting back to me on the paint color and in the end it wasnt even the same color lol, so dont paint! I am super stoked for the new apt to get built and maybe safety wont be as big of a concern!

The Yards is hands-down my favorite apartment complex I have lived in. I was one of the first residents to move into the new building, and I would have stayed had I not moved out of state. The location is great with plenty of bars and restaurants across the street. Also walking distance to the HyVee arena and convenience stores. Coming from the heart of downtown, I thought the night life wouldn't compare, but the West Bottoms has such a vibrant culture. The residents I met during my time there were considerate and always happy to lend a helping hand. The staff are outstanding. Not only are they quick to respond to requests, but they also go out of their way to do little things that make a big difference- like putting away packages in the secure lockers that the carriers did not. Location and community were my two biggest draws to The Yards, but besides that the apartments are new so they have up-to-date appliances and finishes. Amenities are great as well, some of my favorites being the pool, gym, vending machines, dog park/spa and coffee bar. The only downsides about the apartment were the noise level from some of the bars and the parking situation, but these were both out of management's control. The covered garage is great, but there were some instances of theft from cars around the building and the West Bottoms in general. What really shows is how The Yards has handled the seriousness of the situation. They don't own the parking garage (its owned by the city), but they were able to get more police and security to patrol both the garage and surrounding areas. The effort from the community is amazing and is what really makes a difference in the place you live. 100% recommend the Yards if you are thinking of living here.
