Scam. Scam. Do not rent there. They trick you with their $525 or $385 rent and then surprise you that there is nothing included. You pay for heat , water ,cooking gas, trash and snow removal . Even the TV and internet they force you to pay $145 for TV that has only 7 good channels. that turns your rent to over $900 per month.

I lived there some time ago, after breaking a lease six months early I paid my due for it and left as I found a bigger place, they have the nerve to take you to court and demand you pay again because they didn't record it. The owners are lawyers is what you will hear if you try to call them about it, and for a small apartment it's not worth the trouble.

Driveway for friar bldg is dangerous for driving and walking. I stepped into a pothole and severely sprained my ankle to the point of bruising my ankle bone. The place in general looks haunted because of lack of lawn maintenance. Four years I've been trying to have my Cookstown fixed or replaced, still waiting.

They showed me one apartment which took 5 mins. They charge you to use the pool and gym and it is not secure at all! DO NOT GO HERE

The place is all right if you need to save some money until you find another place to live. I wouldn't consider living here for more that 2 years there are drug heads throughout the buildings smoker's leaving their cigarette butts all over. The trash collection is a joke they took the main dumpster out from the building no consideration of others as they say otherwise. Then they want too charge you for fees that are not even legitimate they force you to get there services if you don't they still charge you lots of section 8 people. They only thing they have going for them is the weight room and the pool, other than that this place sucks.

I scheduled a tour over the phone and was asked several questions including "Do you have any pets?". I told the woman that I had a dog and she asked me the dog's weight. I told her my dog was about 60 pounds. I drove almost an hour from Donegal, PA to tour the apartment and when I arrived I was asked to fill out a paper which included a question about my pet's "Kind/Size". I put "dog, 60 lbs". I turned in the paper and waited almost 10 minutes. The woman came back into the room and asked what breed my dog was. I told her my dog was a mutt from a shelter, and she's a mix of pit, terrier, and something else. I did not hide the fact that she had pit in her. The woman then quickly told me that I could not tour the apartment and my dog was not allowed there. I left and called the apartment manager. I explained that I was never asked about my dog's breed over the phone, or on the paper I filled out, so I assumed they wouldn't discriminate. I told her that I drove an HOUR to go on this tour, just to be turned away within 10 minutes of being there. She explained that it was the policy of ALL A.R. Building Company properties to not allow any dogs that "LOOK LIKE" Pitbulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, etc. - regardless of temperament...... She told me that this policy was because it can "make the other tenants uncomfortable". I'm extremely upset that the woman I spoke to on the phone did not ask about breed and lead me to believe that everything would be fine. Moreover, I'm extremely upset that a company wide policy DISCRIMINATES against dog breeds and chooses their tenants based on that insignificant factor. I hope that A.R. Building Company will someday get some sensible policies in place and allow good people with good pets live in their communities. For now though, I will be avoiding all of their communities and letting anyone I know about this incident. If you're looking for a decent, friendly apartment community that has your best interest in mind, you may want to look elsewhere.
