Overall these are nice, clean, bright apartments. Nice fixtures and finishes for the most part. Cleanliness of exterior areas, mail room and parking garage is maintained nicely. Friendliness of maintenance and cleaning staff was excellent. In-unit washers are a combination washer drier, they're actually very nice if a bit small, but the apartments are lightly built. Count on your dishes and shelves shaking when your neighbors do laundry. It can be a bit difficult to explain if you're on a Zoom call. Responsiveness of management and maintenance of fixtures such as security gates and in-apartment issues is slow at best and at times non-existent. The locking entry gate to 5820 actually closed and locked about 50% of the two years that we lived there. Result? Strangers entering the courtyard and knocking on your door at the best of times. At the worst of times it was stolen packages. A couple of times someone hadn't even bothered to take the package, but opened the shipping boxes in the entry area, took the goods and left the packaging. Requests to fix this would result in some adjustment, usually several days after the request was made and security continued to be an issue. During recent rains, we had water leaking into our upper level apartment through an overhead HVAC unit. We placed an emergency call because there was obviously a roof issue and we were uncomfortable running the heat with the water leak. Management responded that the earliest they could get someone out was in about four days time--so we lived with water dripping in and no heat. When a service person arrived, the service person who showed up was an HVAC tech--he told us water leaking in the roof was not his problem. Ultimately the situation was resolved by negligence. The water dried up, the HVAC was fine and we were left with some paint and plaster damage to live with. In 2020 a power surge damaged the range in our kitchen. While this is certainly not the fault of management, the response left us without a working oven for weeks while they sent first a handyman, then an appliance service person who decided it was an expensive repair, then a handyman again to re-evaluate, then finally ordered a new range which took an additional week to arrive. It's great that they simply bought a nice new appliance, but it meant nearly a month of hotplate or microwave cooking for us. It felt a lot like camping. Overall, the apartments are attractive and it seems like a great community. But overall, slow or non-existent responses to relatively major, safety-related concerns keep it from being a place I would choose to live.

I can honestly say one of the better renting and living experiences I've had in LA. The manager on site is extremely helpful and understanding. He tries to make everyone's experience a good one. Sadly I have to move because the rent is so expensive and unsustainable long term. I think the only thing I would improve on is the cleanliness and aesthetics of the outside of the building. They tried really hard to keep the foliage up to date and looking nice, but it ultimately isn't working. The inside was kept very clean and free from trash. A hired team cleaned every morning and hosed down the property. Also, it would be nice if the company covered water and trash. Tenants pay for everything individually. The location is premier and can't be beat. Highland Park is a thriving neighborhood and extremely popular. Friends consistently want to come here and visit so we don't have to go far at all. There's also ample parking. Neighbors are all friendly. If you can afford it it's a great place to live.

This apartment complex is very well run. It is kept clean regularly, it is decently priced and walking distance to tons of activities. Highland Park Station is across the street which makes it very easy to get to Downtown or Pasadena. The property manager, Mike, is AWESOME! He is kind, caring and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure you are comfortable. He has quickly responded to any maintenance requests and we have had no issues getting things resolved. I Loved living here. Great location, quick walk to everything you need. Mike that property manager is so nice and helpful. He's never to busy to answer a text or email. He makes living there very easy!!! Also Kitchen mouse is around the corner YUMM!!!
