Before submitting my application, had no difficulties contacting management. After we submitted our applications, management fell off the grid. It's almost as if they saved my number as "chump" then scheduled my calls to go right to voice mail. Also bad news when it comes to break-ins and ridiculously high utility bills. Will not be renting from here in the future.

I would avoid this complex like the plague. Apartment was deemed move in ready despite broken AC, dirty, damaged and a flooding basement. Took maintenance a few days to even come evaluate flooding. After ripping out walls, no progress was made for months. With any sort of rain the problem persists despite the complex stating it has been fixed. Management is incompetent. Only redeeming quality of this complex is the pool. However, likelihood is you can find another complex with a pool at a similar price and similar distance from OSU.

February 2018 pros: excellent location, beautiful grounds, adequate parking, very dog friendly, very responsive maintenance and office staff cons: electric heat, not warm, excessively high electric bills, old windows, my two bedroom electric bill was $280 in January, my neighbors 3 bedroom was closer to $400. July 2018 New management. Rent increased 25%. Calls to office ring busy, Of my 8 neighbors, 7 are leaving in July 2018 because management doesn't deal with bad tenants. My neighbor is going on the 3rd month without paying rent and they harass and terrorize the neighborhood along with their non-resident riff raff associates. Tenant complaints about bad behavior are referred to police. Police encourage residents to get together as a group and approach apartment management. Who has time to take on this cause? There is an off duty police who patrols the grounds but doesn't have power to do anything. The only solution if you have bad neighbors is to get out as soon as you can. To management's credit they will allow you to break a lease if you are being harassed or threatened. If you don't work, smoke and drink, stay up late, entertain lots of guests, enjoy starting trouble, this is the right place for you. Welcome home!

February 2018 pros: excellent location, beautiful grounds, adequate parking, very dog friendly, very responsive maintenance and office staff cons: electric heat, not warm, excessively high electric bills, old windows, my two bedroom electric bill was $280 in January, my neighbors 3 bedroom was closer to $400. July 2018 New management. Rent increased 25%. Calls to office ring busy, Of my 8 neighbors, 7 are leaving in July 2018 because management doesn't deal with bad tenants. My neighbor is going on the 3rd month without paying rent and they harass and terrorize the neighborhood along with their non-resident riff raff associates. Tenant complaints about bad behavior are referred to police. Police encourage residents to get together as a group and approach apartment management. Who has time to take on this cause? There is an off duty police who patrols the grounds but doesn't have power to do anything. The only solution if you have bad neighbors is to get out as soon as you can. To management's credit they will allow you to break a lease if you are being harassed or threatened. Management could get non-paying tenants out in 30 days if they followed Ohio Revised Code. Allowing a non-paying tenant to live for 3 months shows poor management practices, loss of revenues, loss of goodwill and ultimately loss of revenue from paying customers. If you don't work, you smoke and drink, stay up late, entertain lots of guests, enjoy starting trouble, this is the right place for you. Welcome home!

Terrible service! Do not move here! This place still has terrible service even after the new company took over! I have contacted maintence numerous times about fixing my air and still have not got it resolved. The staff here are terrible my upstairs is 90 degrees and I can never sleep at night, but maintenance leaves the house with an unresolved problem! I even tried contacting the staff at the office to talk to a manager and still have not received a phone call back. I do not understand how a company can take over and not care about the safety and luxury of their residents. Not only am I have issues in the summer, but I also had issues any the winter. Our electric bill was over 600 dollars and it was below 65 degrees. However we had snow coming through our windows and yet again it took maintence 3 different times to fix the problem. Although they didnt and caulked our window shut so we couldn't open it in the summer and all of the screens in the other windows are either broken or don't have any screens provided and we are still somehow paying 300 dollars in electric with no air. I am not happy about this service and the expenses I'm having to pay for air that does not even work

Very convenient location for students at OSU many different things to do in the area. Prior to moving in the unit was not ready, water damage all through out from the floor above. The deck fence is hardly held together. Cabinets are falling off the walls. The maintenance crews lack pride in their jobs and are very unprofessional. Even under the new management I was told that it was okay for my apartment to be 91 degrees until they were able to fix it on Monday. Emergency maintenance is a joke. Will be glad to move out within the next few months!

I have lived here for a year and never had a problem until the new life gaurd Autumn just called the cops because my brothers gf and her friends did not have wristbands at the pool, despite being with us with wrist bands. I have never encountered anything so ridiculous. Too not have access to my pool or have the ability to bring guest is a new rule that seems selectively enforced. I hope management handles this new problem and implements a policy that deviates from calling the cops on residents and their guests

We lived there for 15months and almost never got maintenance to come fix anything. NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR KIDS! It is Columbus City Schools and when summer finally did come, it was a frat party at the pool EVERY DAY. Loud speakers, beer pong IN THE POOL, thong bikinis. Sure, if you're a college kid with A LOT of money, this place is right for you. We had a 3 bedroom townhome with basment- spacious, I'll admit, but it was $1330/mo and they are HORRIBLE about fixing things. Also, when our lease was up, they wanted to increase our rent by $160/mo. That's $1490. It was absurd and I will never go back there. Plus no one picks up their dog poop so watch where you step!

I feel like I have PTSD looking back at the time I spent living here. I could literally spend hours telling you why not to move here. Dont do it. Trust me and everyone else giving this place 1 star reviews. We are real people that lived here and I wouldnt come back here if they paid me. The staff literally does nothing. I walked to my car every morning for work at 5am, and never once did our parking lot light work. The staff didnt care about females walking to there cars in the pitch black. They didnt care about the bugs. They didnt care about people having aggressive dogs trying to attack you and other dogs. Thankfully this place is now just a memory. Dont let it become one of yours, its not a fond one.

We were broken into twice while living here and had constant problems with bugs and BLACK MOLD. This complex needs to be shut down. Betsy Hoying is a slumlord who doesn't care about her tenants. Such poor living conditions. We've requested numerous times to have our windows that don't lock to be replaced and they still do not lock. Our heating unit has leaked over 6 different times causing our carpet to smell like mildew and every time they just spray air freshener . We have honestly contemplated reporting these conditions to the city of Columbus because of how unsafe the windows are and the chance of mold. CONSIDER LIVING ELSEWHERE. We have been so excited to finally move on from this place.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I cant wait to get out of my lease which ends in just a few months, I had SO many problems with this community. First, we had multiple attempted break-ins which were by maintenance. Dont believe me?! Listen to this story The day our washer and dryer was delivered, no one was home, we got home and noticed that our windows and door knobs had been tampered with, since neither me or roommates had been the ones to open the windows, they only other suspects left were maintenance who had been in that day! Later that same night, we had multiple men dressed in black come slamming on our doors, attempting to open it up. Other then the break-ins, our windows were messed up so much that they would not close. We talked with maintenance about the safety issue of this and they said the windows are so old that we dont have those windows to replace with anymore, so we cant do anything to fix the issue So don't expect them to resolve your issues promptly, they wont budge unless you are sending email after email and calling day after day. On top of that, our bills were overwhelming, because the apartments are SO OLD and drafty. We are talking $300 a month, for a small apartment - split between 3 people, we each paid at least $100 or more during the winter months. This was even when using very little heat. The gym is a pathetic excuse for one, they dont even have TVs in the room because they were stolen in the past (I had management tell me this when I asked about it) Once I left a really nice water bottle in the gym just to come back less then 10 minutes later for it have been gone. The community is full of college kids, who part Monday-Friday, dont expect to sleep much with blaring music 24/7 Keep looking, this is not where you want to live.

BED BUGS!!!!!! DO. NOT. RENT. HERE. Please save yourself! Read through these reviews and you will see just how awful this place is. In my case, it was a mixture of terrible, shady, and lazy management on top of pests .... bed bugs! One day my roommates and I started noticing itchy bites all over our upper bodies. Initially, we thought it was spiders or something that could be easily exterminated. Keep in mind that my roommates and I are all very clean people with great personal hygiene. The pests were coming through our WALLS. We decided to bomb the house with bug bombs and do a deep cleaning of the house to try and resolve this problem. Upon cleaning and moving things around, we stumbled upon the mother load. To our terror, we found multiple holes within our walls from burrowing bed bugs. As you can imagine, we were mortified. We acted instantly by calling the office. It was late Friday afternoon (around 3 or 4), so of course the office staff were itching to get home - which is understandable but they are not the ones that have to go home to an infested place. Initially the person that answered the phone told us that they were unable to get anyone to come and check our place out due to it being so late in the afternoon. They seemed unfazed and unconcerned with the issue at hand. We have had to talk to multiple different "managers" because it seems that the situation keeps getting tossed around as if nobody wants to deal with it. They refused to do anything about the situation until Monday and when we asked about staying in our place with the infestation they told us that we could, "still stay there over the weekend"..... yeah, if we want to be feasted on by bugs and spread them to anywhere else we go? No thank you. We refused and asked to be placed somewhere else but still, they told us they could not do such thing. We are STILL currently fighting this and still dealing with pest issues and horrible management. I cannot emphasize this enough, PLEASE save yourself the hassle!

DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!! By FAR the WORST place I have rented from. If the stars went in the negative, that's where it would be! Constant parties all around us nearly every night of the week. The weekends were especially bad. Large groups of people partying in adjacent apartments. There wasn't a time I can remember where there were not beer cans and bottles laying all over the grass, sidewalks, and parking lots, both broken and whole. After knocking on neighbors doors countless times on multiple nights we gave up and called the police countless times on multiple nights over several months, and complained to the office at least 4 more times in person and called around that many times as well. The police simply flirted with the young women. The office sent letters threatening to evict, then let us know they have never actually evicted anyone for partying; just a scare tactic. It did not work. It continued, as the office continued to not back us up at all. As I found out, the only way to put a stop on your own is to press charges through the police and take them to court, then they "may" suffer consequences. Or Complex management could stand up for you. In this case, it was obvious they would not. Then our neighbor(I know this may be isolated) began having nearly daily screaming matches with her boyfriend and smoking weed in the basement(which smelled up our entire apartment as well). Also they restrict(supposedly) certain breeds of dog, yet you'll see more than one of those breeds daily being walked. No one picks up any of the dog poop either, it was everywhere!! Not that this matters to me, just an example of how much Olentangy commons actually cares. Maintenance is also very unresponsive and irresponsible. They "fixed" our toilet 4 times over the span of two months until I finally just fixed it myself. The outlets throughout the entire place were loose and plugs would simply fall out randomly which is an incredible fire hazard. We made them fix one, and yes, they replaced it. Instead of putting dry wall in and correctly installing like the others, they used putty and molded the cover in to the wall itself. The dishwasher was moldy when we moved in. We told them and asked them to fix it, they "cleaned" it, which must mean nothing. Because it was just as bad when they left. So I did it myself. Not that I mind that much, at least it was then clean. After I cleaned it, I told them that they did nothing and I had to do it myself. They informed me I am not allowed to work on the appliances at all. Then the ceiling in the kitchen began leaking water. Which was coming from the bathtub upstairs. They fixed it. During the install they forgot to caulk around the tub is what they told us. So there was likely the beginning of some damaging and dangerous mold under the tub, they were not at all concerned about it. And lastly, none of the windows downstairs would stay open on their own,(Not to mention the very very high gas and electric bills that came as a result of bad windows)They were all broken. Also the sliding door was missing the screen, so we called and had them replace it. It fell off two days later. So we just gave up and left it off. To sum up; if you are looking to party all the time with your neighbors, this is the place for you. If your ok with paying high rent with low quality of living, you will enjoy. Again DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!
