Description

Rarely available top-floor, sixth-floor Old Town home with 2,100 square feet of living space, two substantial private outdoor spaces, and unobstructed wraparound skyline views.
The entire 2,100 square feet is arranged on one level, with an unusually broad footprint and an exceptionally large main living and dining area. The living space is surrounded by city views and opens directly onto a large covered terrace.
The terrace runs along the home and is accessible from both the main living area and the primary bedroom. Two overhead heaters and a retractable exterior wind/rain screen make it substantially more usable through Chicago’s cooler, windier and wetter weather than a typical balcony. It also includes a natural-gas grill hookup and dedicated outdoor storage.
A second private outdoor space sits above: an approximately 2,000-square-foot rooftop deck with expansive skyline views, lounge seating, ottomans and a propane fire table.
Inside, the kitchen features a full Viking appliance suite, including refrigerator, dishwasher, range/oven and microwave. All three bedroom closets include built-in organization, with an especially extensive custom primary closet. One secondary bedroom also has wraparound built-in bookshelves.
The primary suite includes direct terrace access, blackout curtains and a large bath with dual sinks, a dual-head shower and whirlpool tub.
Additional features include:
* New, top-of-the-line LG washer and dryer
* Central air conditioning with Nest thermostat
* Heat, water, trash and recycling included in rent
* Solar-powered motorized shades in the main living area
* Motorized shade in one bedroom
* Ceiling fans in two bedrooms
* High-quality Pella double-pane windows and sliding doors that substantially reduce exterior noise
* Top-floor location with no upstairs neighbors
* Only two residences per floor, giving the building a quiet, private feel
* Smart-lock apartment entry
* ButterflyMX building intercom with smartphone entry, remote guest access and guest codes
* Elevator and package area
* One garage parking space included
* Installed Level 2 EV charger- charging reimbursed quarterly at the building’s metered electricity rate, currently ~$0.05/kWh
* Bike storage and additional shelving/storage in the garage
* Second garage parking space may be available for an additional charge
* Unit can be rented furnished for additional charge, please inquire
The location is exceptionally walkable. The Wells Street corridor is just outside the door, with Old Town restaurants, bars, coffee shops and neighborhood amenities close by. The Sedgwick Brown/Purple Line station is approximately a five-minute walk, while the Clark/Division Red Line station is roughly ten minutes away, providing convenient access throughout the city.
Everyday errands are equally easy, with The Fresh Market and Jewel-Osco within walking distance. Lincoln Park and the lakefront are nearby, and the home offers convenient access to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Lurie Children’s Hospital and the Feinberg School of Medicine.
Tenant pays electricity, including A/C usage, and internet. One-month security deposit. Pets considered. No indoor smoking.
Available October 1 for a preferred 12-month lease.

Old Town
Thriving Nightlife Paired with Eclectic Shops and Restaurants in Chicago’s Old Town

The area referred to as Old Town was home to many Native American Nations including members of the Illinois, Miami and Potawatomi. After the 1833 Treaty of Chicago most indigenous peoples were forcibly removed. The land was then settled by German Catholic immigrants. Although there is no legal entity called Old Town, the people who live there regard the northern border as North Avenue and the neighborhood continues south to Division Street. The East edge is LaSalle Street and heads west to Halsted. Old Town has many historic buildings, including St. Michael’s Church, one of only seven buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire. In 1924 Henry Gerber established the first gay-rights group, the Society for Human Rights, and his home has since been designated as both a Chicago Landmark and a National Historic Landmark. The 1950s saw an influx of Puerto Ricans that emigrated to Chicago. In the 60s and 70s Old Town became a center for folk musicians. The Old Town School of Folk Music was located on North Avenue until its move to Armitage Street in 1968.
