Just north of downtown, the Queen Anne neighborhood is as affluent as it sounds. Sandwiched between Elliott Bay and Lake Union, this area has more than its fair share of waterfront property and views. The Southwest Queen Anne Greenbelt, for example, looks out over the water toward the West Seattle neighborhood. Kerry Park is known for its view of the Seattle Space Needle, downtown, and Mount Rainier. Rent growth in Seattle over the past year has been declining. When compared to major cities nearby, along with some of the most expensive cities in the country, Seattle average rent prices appear to be relatively affordable for local residents.

The price for a Seattle one-bedroom apartment remains vastly more affordable than four of the largest cities in the United States — New York City, Washington, D.C. San Francisco and Los Angeles. And pricing compares quite similarly to nearby Midwest cities.

To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
