South University Savannah

South University is in a terrific area of Savannah for dining. It’s within walking distance of, in my opinion, the best Mexican restaurant in the city (La Parilla) the best Asian restaurant (Tangerine Fusion + Sushi Bar), and the best Indian restaurant (Pakwan). Students can also walk to the Toucan Cafe, which is popular with young people because of its hip jungle theme, its casual vibe, and affordable yet delicious food. When you have a break in between classes and need to eat, or have a dinner date with a coed, these restaurants are perfect for South students. Commuting by car is almost a prerequisite for attending South University Savannah; 98% of students have cars on campus. Public transportation is available through buses run by the Chatham Area Transit, but most students don’t use them for everyday commuting. It’s fairly easy to commute by car around Savannah. Interstates 516 and 16 provide access to the city, and the Truman Parkway runs north and south next to the university. South’s campus is closest to Savannah’s Paradise Park, Southside, and Brookview neighborhoods.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
