St. Johns Neighborhood Summary

St. Johns is almost its own little town within the city of Portland. It’s known for its distinct mix of the old and the new, as well as its contrast between the industrial and the natural. Just outside of the neighborhood’s downtown strip – which includes a number of local restaurants and unique shops – you can find lovely residential homes and an abundance of natural land. This neighborhood is a wonderful option for those who wish to be close to Portland’s natural treasures. All St. Johns’ residents are within walking distance over 10 parks and natural areas, including the famous Cathedral Park (pictured above). Its close proximity to University of Portland makes it a great option for students, but its numerous features are also friendly to young professionals.

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
