Boise Neighborhood in Portland, OR

Boise Neighborhood Summary

Boise used to have a bad reputation 20 years ago, but has since blossomed into an up-and-coming, hip neighborhood for young professionals. A recent census showed that 78 percent of its residents are 25-35 year old singles, so if you’re looking to live in a youthful community, Boise is a fantastic option. The neighborhood is convenient to many other Portland highlights, including Concordia, Downtown Portland, and other “close-in” neighborhoods. If you regularly commute to downtown for work and/or play, but don’t want to live in the middle of it all, then Boise is perfect for you. It is only 25 minutes to downtown via bicycle. There are a number of different restaurants, cafes, and even some recording studios in the area. The annual Mississippi Avenue Street Fair is also thrown every year, a festival that exhibits a number of amateur performing artists and shops in the area.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
