Originally constructed in 1898, The School House is part of the Duetchtown historic District, a neighborhood of small-scaled 19th and 20th century buildings. The building was named the Latimer School in 1913 in honor of Alexander C. Latimer, an Irish immigrant active on the Third Ward School Board. A landmark of the neighborhood's educational life- first as an elementary school and then as a junior high school- The School House is now providing lessons in the good life to a new generation.
