Lived here about a year and would have stayed if I wasn't moving out of state. Did not need to put many maintenance requests in, but they were resolved quickly when I did make them. Many reviews mention price, but the rent and fees were exactly what management said they would be, so you know what you are getting in to. The property is in a lovely area right near a wonderful park. The complex is very quiet and there isn't too much noise from neighbors (but upstairs neighbors are always upstairs neighbors and you can hear them from time to time). The clubhouse is nice and the whole complex is kept clean. I don't like paying $20 a month for PGE service even when not using the heat, but that's not really the complex's fault. My unit has been very well-kept and was spotless for move-in. Very pet friendly complex. I definitely recommend this property and if you are looking in the area it's worth checking out.

With all the parks and nature it feels like youre outside the city, but you still have all the conveniences Madison provides a short distance away. If I wasnt moving out of state, I would certainly want to stay at Province Hill.

I have lived at Province Hill Apartments for a little over 3 and 1/2 years. I loved my experience there. If I ever moved back to Madison, I would definitely choose to return to this complex. The staff was Amazing and really did there best to support the needs of the residents. I feel really lucky to have picked this location to live. It was clean, professional, quiet and a safe.

I subleased an apartment here for 3 months while I was building a house. I was really surprised that at this price point the property is not kept more up to date. Everything in the building I lived in appeared to be old and worn. I'm not sure how often the entryways, stairwells, and hallways are cleaned, but the cobwebs on the light fixtures never were removed during my stay and the hard surface floors were always dirty. With all of that said, there were certainly other aspects that I really liked about this apartment.
Our unit was a corner unit with a private screened in porch. Looking out all of windows, we had a beautiful view of flowers and trees. The kitchen was set up in a very thoughtful way with a layout that really seemed to make sense. We had a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower in the master bathroom, which was something I've never had in an apartment before. We had our own private parking spot in the garage along with a small storage room, but the storage room would occasionally get a wet floor so make sure you don't keep anything valuable in there. The other residents all were very nice and many seemed to have lived here for a long time.
The clubhouse and pool area are kept very clean and nice and there is a wonderful outdoor kitchen and TV lounge that is a pleasure to use. There is also a nice workout room that is rarely used by the other residents, so it's basically a private gym. They are very friendly with pets and they even provide pet waste baggies, which helps keep the messes to a minimum.
Overall, I'm glad that I stayed here for the short time I needed an apartment. But I don't think I would seek a long-term lease here. There are quite a few newer apartments in the area for less rent and similar facilities.

I just moved in last weekend. So far, here's the good, bad and ugly.
The apartment is beautiful and well-appointed, with large bedrooms and tons of kitchen cabinet space. Closet space is a little more limited; after having a walk-in closet, folding door closets take a little getting used to, even with 2. Luckily I have a generous storage area, so I was able to pare down to a summer wardrobe.
It's missing some of the details I would have expected from a luxury apartment, such as ceiling fans and curved shower rods for extra elbow room (I bought and installed those myself).
During my move I already received 2 complaints.
- Since I had to vacate my prior residence by 1:00 Sunday and could not occupy my new apartment until the following day, I needed to load up my U-Haul and park it overnight while I stayed in a hotel. I parked it at the apartment complex, out of the way, where it would be safe. The following day I received an email that this was not permitted under the apartment rules. I remember scanning them quickly and saw that trailors were not permitted, but nothing about moving trucks. My truck was a U-Haul, and therefore was clearly not going to take up permanent residence in this parking space.
- After unloading the truck on Monday for 8 hours, we had only a sectional sofa left. We stacked it neatly next to the door to the elevator - out of anyone's way - and left to return the U-Haul and eat a late lunch. While eating I received a call from management that there were complaints about my furniture.
I also agree with the reviewer above on the pet situation. The charge of $65/mo. is unreasonable, particularly if any damage/cleaning will later be deducted from my deposit as well. I doubt my cat could possibly commit $1,330 worth of crimes in a year.
On the other hand - the office staff have been unfailingly friendly, and escalated my request to have my contrast walls painted before moving in. I'm not sure that's necessarily a plus, since I would have expected that to be done in advance anyway, but I had been told it might take several extra days, so this was a relief.
Still waiting to see if the benefits outweigh the annoyances, but if the nitpicking and nosy neighbor stuff continues for the next year I will not be writing a good review when I leave.

My wife and I have lived here for the past year and have had a nice experince. Most of the staff are wonderful. Service is quick and the apartments are beautiful. The management is ok but I must admit they are better than most people I have worked with. It would be nice if it were a more reasonable price but you get what you pay for. We have two dogs and the are pretty reasonable about them. I don't really deal with my resident manager so I can't comment on them however some are dreadful to deal with I have heard from good friends. Management could be a bit more flexible but it is a business. Overall good experince.
