Ready to read the most detailed google review youve ever seen? Here goes:
I lived at Whispering Lake for 3 years. During that time it got taken over by a new management company, which is a big part of the problem. I dont recommend living here at all! But in the spirit of fairness ill post both the positive and the negatives.
Pros:
The grounds and lake are beautiful and well maintained. There is an off leash dog area, playground area, and outdoor grilling area that were recently put in. Having a fireplace is nice in the winter time, but you have to haul wood up 2-3 flights of stairs. Nice having included washer and dryer. Truthfully this is all the nice things I have to say.
Cons:
Oh where do I begin! I dont think Ive ever been treated so badly by a business. The assistant manager Shannon is a straight up sociopath. She takes great pleasure in your misfortune. My husband's car got towed and she thought it was hilarious, and made sure to let him know that. Oh speaking of towing, they use a security service overnights that actually do nothing but tag your car for stupid reasons(i.e. one flat tire, one tire over the curb while parked, etc) and if you dont fix it within 24 hrs they tow your car. They attempted to tow my car at least twice. The problem doesn't get any better if you pay for a carport either. My renewal tags were stolen off of my car and Shannon didnt apologize and told me that it could have happened anywhere. In the 3 years I lived there I was only late on rent one time, it was Christmas and I gave them 2 weeks prior notice that I would be 2 days late. Shannon refused to cut me a break at all. She repeatedly harassed me for renters insurance documentation I had already given her, even charging me for renters insurance I didnt have through them. They changed their billing while I lived there too, from a flat rate for water trash sewer to allocated utilities which made my rent skyrocket. Any issues with that they wont deal with at the office though, and you have call the billing company they use, and they dont ever answer the phone. You never know from month to month what your rent is, and they charge YOU a 4 dollar fee to get a bill for your rent. Parking there is always an issue, and good luck getting a spot anywhere close to your apartment on the weekends unless you have a car port. The car ports are terrible, spots are tiny and hard to get in and out of. That and they cost an extra 30 a month! The units themselves need serious help. Building number 5 is leaning towards the lake! You cant tell unless you look in the door frames or use a level but the building is falling apart. They do not maintain the units like they should at all. I had mold and MUSHROOMS growing out of my bathroom wall and they came in and wiped acetone on the wall and left. The dishwasher had to be 30 years old and was falling apart. Maintenance guys are really nice and they do the best they can but they are given no real budget to replace things. We were left for a week with no hot water, and almost a month with no washing machine! Units need a complete overhaul! Units only have a size water heater so if you like long showers move somewhere else. I could really keep going but this is majority.
TL;DR: JUST DON'T DO IT
