Overall, I am pleased with my four year stay at Gateway. Ive had a few issues with my washer and AC before, but maintenance has responded to my work orders in a timely manner (either the same day or the day after). Recently, maintenance went above and beyond to help me with a problem I had in my restroom. Keivan did the job and ensured I was satisfied with the work before leaving. The leasing staff at the office is very welcoming and friendly. I usually go into the office to get papers printed for class and they do it without hesitation. When I see staff members around the property, they always greet me with a smile. I love the free events Gateway offers throughout the month and the fact that we have a bus stop just outside the complex. I would say the only major problem my roommates and I have encountered while at Gateway has to do with the lack of customer service from the managers. They seem to never be available and take a while to contact you back, if they contact you at all. Other than that, I am satisfied with what Gateway has to offer.

Gateway has been for the most part great. Love the pool area, we use the grill area a lot, only thing is that they dont provide propane. I dont know how people seem to have problems with maintenance , I put in a work order for My dryer, washer, stove, etc. and they were almost all answered by that day or by the next for sure.

I've lived here for a few months now and I honestly can't complain. Yes, they are a bit older than some of the apartments in the area and this does sometimes show through, but for the affordability, location and great staff, these apartments are great-- especially for students. The staff is always nice and helpful and they make an effort to build a community through different events each month. The maintenance team is GREAT. They have always responded within hours to a day of a request being submitted and have never left without fixing the issue. I don't have any complaints about living here.

The ONLY good thing about these apartments and new management are the specials they give. Look nice on the internet etc, dont get me wrong they are nice decent apartments but they have a BAD ANT problem. Says all bills paid but in reality youre paying for everything !!! They give you one electric bill thats low then every bill after that is nearly 100 dollars although you try everything in your power to save. Management do not care about the residents they just want your money. Beyond ready for my lease to be over with .

When we moved they were completely unprepared. We had to submit several work requests to fix basic appliances and furniture. On top of that, we had to steam clean all the furniture and carpets because they smelt like animal. Today, it's been almost 24 hours and our water is still off. When I asked for when our water might be turned back on, the front desk gave me a vague "some time today". I was told a pipe busted but I've never had an apartment take this long to fix a broken pipe. On top of that our AC system is garbage. We get charged ridiculous amounts for continuously running the AC even though the temperature never goes under 78-80 degrees.

I have lost so much sleep from this train that plagues the quiet night time every single day. It is so cancerously loud that it wakes me amidst my sleep. I only go about 4 hours of sleep a day from this train that runs every other hour. And the blaringly loud horn disrupts the whole community for a good 30 seconds of nonstop pandemonium. I have some form of a traumatic stress disorder from this and whenever I hear the train horn I can't help but freak out and lose my composure from it disrupting my sleep cycle on a daily basis. DO NOT LIVE HERE. SAVE YOUR SANITY. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

I really don't understand the bad reviews. I lived here for two years and never had any issues. Maintenance worked fast, they always had fun events, and there was plenty of parking. I liked that I could pay rent online. The people in the office were always helpful and nice. I had a great experience living here. Plus, the rent was super affordable.

It's a good place to stay but not loyal to it's long standing residents. When renewals came up, my friend and I renewed early and got a small concession each month off rent. Paying around $355/month instead of $380. Then later you see people coming in last minute signing for leases as low as $222 (for the same floor plan). I've been here for 2+ years and feel ripped off. Plus I've put in maintenance requests to fix a couple of problems in the apartment and they've been putting it off for almost two months already. I've constantly been reminding them that the problems need to be fixed but they keep saying they have a lot of problems with A/C in other units as they would be "unlivable". You can still live A/C as I don't even use it. Only reason I have mine on cuz my roommates do. Even so, this shouldn't be an excuse for them not to come fix the problems in my apartment. With all said and done, I wouldn't consider living here anymore after all that has happened unless they can amend these situations above. Also if the owner/manager sees this, don't tell me to call or email to meet up in person to discuss my concerns unless these above concerns WILL be fixed! There's no point in me coming in and get nowhere. I don't have the time to waste for this. So if you do see this and that these concerns CAN and WILL be fixed, you let me know. If not, don't even reply to this review.

On move in day my bed was not fully assembled, my bedroom was missing a desk chair (which I still do not have), and my first month's rent check was not even applied toward my account, it was applied to the previous tenant. I have lived here 3 days and I already know I will not be re-signing a lease next year. My bathroom tile was full of cracks, the caulking was not even sealed to my shower and my shower itself is missing tiling. They had the audacity to drop off a card saying that my unit was "inspected for move in" with all of these obvious issues. As a generous move in gift, they thought it fitting to place a 18" long piece of wood on my dresser that has multiple nails jutting out out from both ends. The complex advertises that they are newly renovated, I am not seeing any of the effects of it. I was actually looking forward to living here, the only upside so far is my roommate and the cheap price.

If my post alone wasnt enough to convince you of how awful this apartment and management is then read all of the reviews since the NEW management came into play. They all include at least one of the things I listed. Also the few great reviews they have are old as hell or clearly done by there own employees trying to make it look like at least some people like them. So congrats new management and property owners y'all took over a good priced and EXCEPTIONALLY WELL management complex and completely RUINED it and nearly EVERY relationship you had with past tenants. Good luck not going out of business because I am sure that my roommates and I as well as the other hundred of people who have written bad reviews have no problem talking people out of wasting their time even touring this place.

I didn't have issues the first year I lived here, which is why I resigned. Now they have new management going on, but it's only been worse. They are working on fixing up the complex, but their pricing system is ridiculous. I resigned almost a year ahead and now they have promotions going on offering new residents to pay around $100 less than what I pay. The people in the office are of no help and don't work with you. They didn't charge for water for almost the whole year because of a screw up and when they finally charged us the full amount, they didn't let me give payments unless I paid through money order. I told them I wasn't in town to pay through money order and they told me I had to pay the full amount then. They didn't try to work with me. Now they are charging a "telecom" fee that we were not exactly warned about when resigning. When I asked to speak to a manager to express my concerns, I was told they were busy and that I had to pay the fee if I didn't want to be charged a late fee. Overall they have been slacking this summer in customer service.

DON'T LIVE HERE. Many of my friends have already left, and I asked why and they said that and it was because the rent was going up. But I've been here for 2 years. I've had issues before. I had to switch apartments to get new roommates- meaning I couldn't release and so I had to sign a new contract instead of releasing and being put in another room. The year that I finally don't have that issue, my rate is going up and I'm living in a 4bed/2bath and am paying over $100 more than new residents, and more than a 2bed/2 bath would pay. They have also have done many renovations, so I don't understand why the price is dropping-maybe my money is helping that. I tried talking to management and they stated they couldn't/wouldn't do anything about it. I asked if I could extend my lease and pay less and they refused. They said that it was the best offer they had at the time and so that's what I have. I would think that if they're concerned about me getting the best offer, or care about their residents who have been here, they would have lowered the rent to the final rate. And no, you're not genuinely disheartened.

This is truly one of the poorer apartment complexes in the College Station area. I've lived here for 2 years and my experience steadily declined from the beginning. At first I was aware that the facilities weren't all the nice, but it was the cheaper option so I went with it. That changed when they raised rent nearly $50 for the second year and the services got exponentially worse. From repeated maintenance requests for the same problem to (not) sleeping a few nights in the Texas heat with no AC to $150+ accumulated utility bills dropped on you at any time because of problems with their system, I urge you to stay away!

Now: management could use some improvement and the traffic is crazy. It seems like everyone in the office is still new and nobody EVER knows the answer to any problems you may be having. Everyone is clueless. We once had a water issue in my entire building and the water was going to be off until the next morning BUT MANAGEMENT DID NOT LET US KNOW THAT, the guy fixing the water did once I ASKED him if he knew. Management let us know hours after we had already been water-less. The apartments are also near the train tracks AND a very busy intersection. Once the train comes, traffic gets terrrrrible and cars will not let you out most of the time. Only one entrance/exit so it's inevitable to beat it. Again, pricing obviously is one reason people want to live here but just beware of the train mostly. Had a decent experience but definitely would not move back.

I have lived at Gateway for almost 2 years. The first year wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Things started getting bad after they changed management. They changed management right before my second lease started. I requested to transfer Apartments and was told I could move in to my new apartment by a certain date. That date rolls around and they told me my apartment wasn't ready yet. I asked for an update over 3 times and was still told my apartment wasn't ready. I waited an additional 2 weeks before I could transfer Apartments and when I finally moved in, the whole apartment was a mess. It was not cleaned, the living room furniture had been moved in the center of the room, and there were many things broken around the apartment. I had to clean and move all of the furniture by myself after being denied help from management. Another issue I had was with Gateways mess up with our water bill. Apparently they "forgot" to charge our utility provider with a water bill for 6 months. We were forced to switch utility providers and Gateway sent us a big bill in April that has to be paid before the end of our lease. On top of that, we got several emails over the last few months saying we were being charged too much for utilities or there was an error with the payment portal or something else they messed up on. Gateway has no problem calling us and knocking on our door serveral times a month asking us to renew our lease, but when it comes to Gateway messing something up, we get a passive aggressive email and a pathetic "we're sorry." No of us has been compensated for the many many screw ups Gateway has done over this passed year. They also keep increasing the prices of their rent. My first lease was $445 a month for a 4 bed 2 bath and the rent went up to $470 a month on my new lease even though I renewed my lease early on in the year. Yes Gateway is one of the cheapest places to live in college station, but it's not worth the constant trouble.

On the day my roommate and I moved in we discovered that not only were we going to be living directly next to the train tracks, but also by one of the busiest intersections in College Station. Before we even move in, we ask to be moved to a different apartment building because we had put down preferences far away from the busyness of the intersection. The management refused to move us and said that this was set in stone. I suffer from chronic migraines and the train comes by multiple times a day and we are about 75 feet from whenever the train blows its horn. Even with this information they were unwilling to move us. When we entered the apartment, it had not been cleaned and many things were broken inside. While the maintenance was fast to fix these problems, they should have already been fine in the first place. There is a dog that lives above me that does not stop barking and whenever I would complain to the front office (which I did quite frequently) they would tell me to call the police because it wasn't THEIR issue. The company they had billing us for our utilities forgot to charge us water for about nine months. And we weren't aware of it because we couldn't get a bill breakdown. Then we suddenly switched to a different provider and then had to produce those nine months of water by the time our lease was up. They have very few events throughout the year, but every single one of the ones I tried to attend got cancelled or "rescheduled." It's a good price, but just be wary it might be a little difficult to deal with, especially if you get woken up by the train at 3 every morning.

I highly dislike Gateway and I will not live here again. The neighbors upstairs are very noisy. I have no clue wth they are doing but it gets annoying especially when I hear the stomps. There's no need for a person to walk like that. Plus I have no clue who the upstairs neighbors are. I just can't stand the noise anymore. Trust me I hear everything they do upstairs. The train gets very annoying as well. It pass at least every hour. There is dog poop everywhere. I am always looking down when I am walking so I won't step in the dog poop. That has gotten on my last nerve too. Since the apartment complex is near the light note to self you will not be able to leave nor enter the apartment complex during hours of traffic because they block the entrance and do not let you go in or out. There is only one entry and exit. Keep in mind they charge for water which will make this apartment complex more expensive than the others. The apartment I got was nothing like the showroom. My apartment had old appliances and I can't read the letters and numbers on the stove, dryer, and washer. The previous tenant I believe had a pet and I cleaned the apartment and my room very well before moving in. I've been here for several months now and I still find the pet's fur everywhere in my room. I am a very clean person so that makes me mad. I had a bad start with management but that is no longer the case. The people in the office have been every friendly and so has the manager now. Maintenance is quick. The bus stop isn't close and in the morning it's impossible to get a seat since it is close to the last bus stops. It's a 20 minute walk to campus. That's great for game day. When I moved in the carpet was dirty and still is they never cleaned it. There are small roaches and a lot of spiders. I wouldn't recommend it.
