Building quality and general maintenance is OK. Price OK. However... the other tenants leave trash everywhere. I suppose it depends on your building, but there is always just garbage in the common areas on the stairs, paths walk ways. The staff are really nice when you move in, but if you ever need anything they are just complete garbage. Packages they receive are a pain in the *** to get. I've had multiple packages stolen, and when you go to the office to get one delivered properly you often wait 20 minutes.
Unrelated to the apartments themselves, but nearby gas stations and intersections have a permanent zombie horde of bums wandering around on drugs for nice ambiance. NOT.
Bottom line: Don't move here.
This place is literally in the worst area imaginable. We were woken up by multiple rounds of GUN SHOTS!! And had to call into...
This place is literally in the worst area imaginable. We were woken up by multiple rounds of GUN SHOTS!! And had to call into the cops multiple times because of this. The apartment themselves are nice, but the people around here are NO good, and have no respect when it comes to noise, parties and speeding down the roads (little kids running throughout these roadsso dangerous). I regret moving here, and cannot wait until the lease ends so I can get out of here. Look elsewhere if you can, there are wayyy better apartment places out there that are not in a terrible neighborhood.

They take the time to get to know you and make you feel special. I have seen the many changes in the apartments since i have been living here, and everything is great. it is close to 77, close to uptown, within 10 minutes of 2 malls. It is in a great location - the staff is wonderful, it is a family friendly neighborhood - what else can you ask for. It has great amenities, the apartment units are spacious. I really like the location of the complex. It quiet, other than the trains. Being that it's close to the train tracks. I think the 1 bedrooms are spacious, especially the walk in closet. I've been here for 2 years and the rent has only went up $20. You pay for the area and a few of the complex amenities, so its all about whata affordable to you.

Moving here was a hasty act on my fiance and my part, but I couldn't be happier! The price we received was amazing for the apartment we moved into. With a dog park, tennis (now soccer) court, volleyball field and two work out areas, there's plenty of amenities to choose from. I didn't even mention the swimming pool and grill areas. The DVD rental option is also great. The apartment itself is more than satisfactory as well. While I haven't run into many maintenance issues, maintenance is usually quick. I've had an instance where I put in an order from work and the job was done before I got home at the end of the day.
I'd highly recommend moving to here.

I have been at Ashford Place for 7 years and it has truly been a place I call HOME. The staff is what makes this community one of the best places to live in south Charlotte. Maintenance is prompt and does their best to get things done right on the first try. The residents are the main reason Ashford has been a great place to call home. While under renovations and amenities being closed or inaccessible, not one resident has been aggressive or mean about the changes being made. #ATEAM

I lived in Ashford for over three years, and there are definite pros and cons. Some of the pros are most of the office staff are extremely competent and polite, the apartments themselves are nice and spacious, the head maintenance man is very knowledgeable, and the laundry room and gym are functioning and clean.
Now we have the cons. The biggest con is the reason I used the word "Most" in reference to the office staff. The property manager, Melody, is incompetent and verbally combative. Any little problem brought to her attention was met with an overly defensive and rude reaction. The walkways were also rarely clean. There was a blood stain on the stairs for over a year before I moved out. The garbage dumpster at the end of the apartment complex was also always overflowing and very unsanitary and unsightly.
Overall I'm left with mixed feelings about my time here, hence the three star review.
