With just under 400,000 people, Tulsa is the second largest city in Oklahoma. The people have a largely diversified skill set, with several industries including telecommunications, oil, technology, education and aviation all being important to the local economy.

The two largest post secondary schools within Tulsa are the University of Tulsa, and Oral Roberts University. Both of these institutions compete in NCAA division I sports. The University of Tulsa is a private school with 4,300 students, and the sports teams are referred to as the Golden Hurricane. Oral Roberts has over 3,000 enrolled students, and the athletics teams are known as the Golden Eagles. ORU is an interdenominational Christian school.

The summer is a good time to look for an apartment in Tulsa. There is also a very good series of highways that make getting around by car quite convenient as well.

Tulsa's museums and art galleries preserve a rich cultural legacy for the town. The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame also frequently features great performances. For high-end shopping, head to Utica Square. For a blast-from-the-past experience, try the Max Retropub. This bar features videogames and arcade attractions that were made popular back in the early 90s.
