Apartments in Stanford

Stanford is a town supported by a school, there can be no question about that. The town doesn't actually exist as a separate incorporated town. Although 14,000 people live there, the total population of the area at any given time is more than double that, due to the population attending the prestigious University.

Located in Santa Clara Country, towns like nearby College Terrace and Palo Alto are also home to many people working at or attending Stanford University. The Silicon Valley University is one of the most recognized educational brands in the world, with the mere mention of Stanford being enough to open doors for many graduates.

When to Search

Because the school is very much the focus of the entire community, rental availability strongly follows the flow of students in and out of town. Many students will give their notice in February or March, which is a good time for new students moving to town to start looking.

Staying in the Know

Getting an apartment near Stanford is nearly as competitive as getting into the school. Stanford University makes a few recommendations for finding off-campus housing, one of which is using a rental service. The environment is competitive enough that if you don't use a service, you may find yourself at a disadvantage when compared to renters who are.
