The Carleton Artist Lofts has been the best place I've ever lived. The building style is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot get enough of the exposed brick and pipes, concrete floor, vaulted wooden ceiling style! My neighbors are incredibly friend, as are the pets in the building! The year round art crawls are a joy to be around. The administrative staff is extremely communicative and helpful. And the location is perfect, next to 94/280 highways and on the front steps of the light rail, smack dab between downtown Minneapolis and downtown Saint Paul. It's nice to see the surrounding neighborhood expanding, with coffee shops and new housing popping up and bringing more energy to the area!

Living at the Carleton Artist Lofts has been nothing but an amazing experience thus far. Of the 3 previous apartments me and my husband have lived in, this one is by far the best & most positive environment we've had. Management is prompt and communicative, and very easily reachable when the need arises. The building & lofts themselves are gorgeous, with lots of natural lighting, beautiful old historic brick, and open and spacious design. Seeing artwork from the residents spread throughout the building is lovely and heartwarming. Perfectly situated right on the green line and also close enough to major highways so travelling never feels like a hassle. There are always community events happening for residents, and though my work schedule usually always conflicts, they seem like fun, creative gatherings where you can get to know your neighbors better. There are also great artist amenities; a dance studio, dry art studio, wet studio, music room, plus a gym! There's so much more I could go on about, but all of those details add up to a happy, comfortable, safe living space, and we feel grateful to be here.

The Carleton Artist Lofts are an amazing place to live. It's a fun and eclectic community with artist studios, dance/yoga room, gym, and lovely community room with a fireplace for meetings or parties. The rent is a great price for the square footage, it is pet friendly with a great dog-friendly community, the security is great and there is free parking in the lot. It's a perfect central Twin Cities location right on the green line train and midway between Minneapolis/St. Paul. The neighborhood is industrial with several breweries and cute shops and restaurants and has several parks and green spaces nearby.

Carleton is easily the best place I have ever lived. I have never had a living space so unique and not "cookie-cutter." The exposed brick and contrasting stucco-like walls are beautiful, the wood beams are always a talking point when we have guests over, and the polished concrete floors are so industrial and sharp -I just love it! I also love the fact that we have a gym on site, such that I don't have to leave the building in the winter if I want to exercise. The studio spaces are great, and are worth living here just for that! There are few places that have everything an artist needs without them having to leave the building. It's not just that. Living in a building FULL of artists is the most unique and rewarding networking opportunity. You can meet and be inspired by other artists everyday, and collaborate in ways that would be unthinkable anywhere else. It's nothing short of an artist's paradise. It's been such a blessing to my family. Aside from the aesthetics of the lofts, Carleton really does have the best property management crew I have ever had. Carleton is also located in a part of town in which the zoning laws don't require them to provide parking for their tenants, but they do -AND IT'S FREE! They have a maintenance crew that responds sometimes in just minutes to your issues, while other places I've lived I might wait at best weeks, but most commonly months to fix, and that's if the landlord felt like it was worth the hassle. Carleton puts their tenants first, and is regularly and visibly going out of their way to make this a great place to live. They take tenant comments seriously, strategize, and respond quickly and efficiently. My wife and I are so grateful for the dedication of the team that makes Carleton what it is, and we wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm so proud of where I live, and I don't see my wife or I leaving Carleton as long as we are residents of the Twin Cities. If you are thinking of a new place to live and Carleton has an opening, you can be absolutely certain that you will be supported as an artist here, and that you would be hard-pressed to find a better place to blossom as an artist.

I have lived here since 2006. The location is wonderful-light rail, bus and easy freeway access. The management staff fixes things with your loft quickly. There is a beautiful community room, dance studio, wet and dry studios, practice room, vending machine area, outdoor rooftop area with grills. Many dogs live here. People are friendly. I brought up my kids here and people have babies to older children. It has been an excellent place to live.
