Downtown Seattle Neighborhood Summary

Abutting the Elliott Bay of the Puget Sound, downtown Seattle is the city’s powerhouse. It’s where you’ll find one of the longest-running farmers markets in the country, Pike Place Market — with the iconic “Public Market Center” neon sign — the Seattle Space Needle, Seattle Art Museum, Paramount Theatre, and dozens of other attractions. With shopping and restaurants on nearly every corner, Seattle is one of the most walkable cities in the country — and what a beautiful walk it will be. Grabbing an apartment downtown likely means snagging a spot in a skyscraper that comes with either a view of the distinctive Seattle skyline or the Puget Sound.

Methodology

Each month, using over 1 million Rentable listings across the United States, we calculate the median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rent prices by city, state, and nation, and track the month-over-month percent change. To avoid small sample sizes, we restrict the analysis for our reports to cities meeting minimum population and property count thresholds.
